“Accidents waiting to happen...”

Hot tub water looked like egg drop soup once the weak jets were turned on. Saunas not exactly clean or appealing. Linoleum around shower cracked, with dirt in the corners. This whole area of advertised guest amenity is "the land the hotel forgot." In fact the front desk had to (reluctantly) unlock the area in spite of me trying to use the facility during posted hours, which says to me they don't want guests to remember it's there. Room did not have the POW I'M CLEAN effect when you walk in, must be something to do with the stains on the carpet just inside the entry, the tired room furnishings and the thin discount warehouse mattress. By comparison, my friend's room at the EconoLodge down the street smacked you in the face with CLEAN upon entering it. 2nd floor ice machine not working. The Manitowoc ice machine's cover was just leaned up against the wall with sharp inner edges exposed. Having said that, the lack of an OUT OF ORDER sign is superfluous I suppose. Not to mention the guest access to ice is bin rather than dispenser type. Michigan passed a law to change all hotel rooms to nonsmoking but still allows this potentially dangerous "back of the house" type of ice machine in guest common areas. Hmmm. Doubt I'll revisit this property in decline unless they decide to turn it around. They seem to be just maintaining (even down to the forced smiles at the cramped front desk) and doing THAT as little as they possibly can. Sad., overall.

“Dirty /Noisy”

The bathroom was filthy with the grout almost black in many spots. There was dried blood or something on the floor under the sink, mold on the bath mat and the walls. The noise from the lobby area was awful late at night, the clerk played a radio quite loud that could be heard in our room halfway down the hall. The noise from early breakfsters in the lobby made sleep after 6AM impossible.
