Greeted with vomit and food in the lift upon arrival. Dog barking in room 2 doors away and urine in corridor beside room entry. Room stunk of cooking fumes from restaurant below. Will never, ever return and will strongly urge others to NOT even entertain thought of staying at Punt Hill Essendon

A quick stop over
We were hesding overseas and this was an overnight stop to see family on the way.... location was perfct, close to family and the airport... will be staying there again for sure :)

The Hotel was clean and quiet but the surrounding was noisy (Supermarket and service station) but we parked in the Hotels underground save car park. But that would not stop us from staying there again.

1. No electric power for about 2 hours on 1st morning. Unable to contact emergency repairs - no phone. 2.Electronic access card failed to provide access to building on 2nd evening. Had to wait for another (unknown) guest to arrive and use his access to building. 3. Difficulty using access card to lift and room on Saturday therefore arranged with reception to leave a day early and sought a refund to which it was agreed but was told it would need to come through lastminute.com.au as that where booking was made. My husband's current serious heart condition was causing anxiety thus early departure and in excess of 24 hours notice given to reception (still awaiting refund!). Previous high quality of Punthill has fallen. No refund equals no using "lastminute" again but there is still time!! A pity as we have stayed at Punthill a number of times in previous years.

We have a intercom at the front of the hotel to call our afterhours team if our guests do not have access to a phone, I am glad my team was able to fix the power in your apartment after they arrived to the hotel! Unfortunately for third party reservations, refunds need to go via the website. We have not received communication from them to approve this. I do hope you give us another chance to show this is not our usual high standard!

Room appeared to have been recently updated. Basic facilities but had everything we needed for a weeklong stay. No fly screen on doors or windows so couldn’t leave open for breeze but air conditioning worked well. New TV but Wi-Fi usually too slow to stream video. Only one small lift which was also used by service staff so could be slow at times. Was in a room facing away from the street and did not have any issue with noise. Staff very friendly. Great location with supermarket, cafes and public transport right at the door.

We stayed for three nights in a well-appointed one-bedroom apartment which had plenty of room. The downstairs carparking was convenient. The property is well located for access to trams, restaurants, coffee shops and normal shopping.

Centrally located in Essendon, walking distance to Windy Hill footy club, Coles, restaurants and bottle shop close by. Only (minor) downside was no milk frother to go with the Nespresso machine for a morning coffee!

Needs a good clean and refresh
On arriving, the room we were assigned was not clean, it had stains on the couch and the dust and uncleanliness caused me to complain to the reception, I have never done this before but the rooms cleanliness was not up to scratch. They did move us to another room, which was better but also needed a good clean, we had to wipe all surfaces and clean a lot of areas that a good clean would have fixed. I understand a daily clean may just be a quick wipe over but surely a regular deep clean should occur and this definitely had not had that in a long long time, the window sills were dusty, burn mark on the pillow case and just plain dirty on so many surfaces, I have stayed here many many times but never again. This is the 1st time in my extensive travels that I felt the need to complain.

Thank you for providing your feedback Mal. Disappointed you did not have a smooth checkin process, we have now extended reception hours so this should make a huge difference. We now vacuum reception at the start and end of the day and sanitize all touch points 3 times a day including lift buttons and door handles. Please reach out if you would like to discuss further.

The property itself was good, the room was good for the purpose i had booked for. A one night stay whilst attending a nearby event. Unfortunately there was a mistakes made by staff were i was unable to gain access to the key to correct room and was presented with a uncleaned room, piles of used bedding and an uncleaned bathroom. A phone call gave me no other room to move to but a refund in the morning. This did not help the situation satisfactorily. Eventually i was given access to the key and room.

Bed was lovely. Bathroom clean, kitchen wasn't. Furniture terrible in poor condition. Didn't sit on couch as it was full of dust, blinds were disgusting. Photo's show a new and stylish room, rather than a run down just ok one. Fake advertising!! Funny smell in hallway. Best thing was there is a great steak grill and cafe downstairs. I'm sorry but I wouldn't book again.

DONT DEAL WITH BELLA IN THE OFFICE!!!
Bella from Punhhill stressed the hell out of me last Saturday when she requested my ID, credit card & COVID-19 vaccination certificate when I'd already emailed last Friday to Chloe & she replied yes she received it, it was due to the fact Qantas changed my flight meaning I would not be able to check in before 5pm. Then I was sent an sms with a so called link to fill out a registration form, well that didn't work. What kind of office do they run there?? Oh and the pillows are the worst I've ever slept on. I will stay there again though as it's conveniently located for where I have to go.

So disappointed to hear you didn't like our registration card method through the link we send via SMS. We implemented this to cut down on paper waste and also so guests can fill it in on their own device where possible. Please note in the future, check-in will not be allowed with the pre-check-in being completed (we have a back up method if it does not work on your device). Unfortunately we are not a 24 hour hotel and do require all these items to allow you to check-in after hours, for the security of all guests staying in the hotel and our team. I can understand how stressful it must have been for Bella to ask for the information again, I can see it was not noted by the team that we had received the items already and this is why Bella asked for it again as this is a crucial part of the late arrival procedure. I do apologies that we did not already have this noted and hope you can understand. Hope you had a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead!

The room we had was nothing like the picture - it had a small window overlooking the air conditioners! And no balcony. It had not kitchen. The kettle had to be filled by a cup as it did not fit under the bathroom tap. There was no bench space to use the kettle or toaster.
