The beds were very comfortable after a long weekend, the staff was helpful in transportation to and from the airport, and the room was clean.

Cons: Wifi didn't work in the room
We were pleasantly surprised with the standard of the hotel for how cheap it was. we will definitely use it again.

I Had travelled from Ireland to uk to go to funeral in nearby newport. As my plane was late I was under pressure to get to the funeral on time. I requested to leave my overnight bag, with no valuables, at hotel as I did not wish to bring it to the church. Receptionist not at all obliging, making my already stressful situation even more stressful. Shuttle bus driver extremely obliging giving me lift to train station. He was very helpful and courteous. Room was just adequate . Bathroom had old fittings and smelt very musty and damp. Shower fitting came away in my hand off the wall. Had no transport so had no choice but to eat in hotel. Chose spaghetti bolognaise from menu and it was very greasy and only able to eat some of it. Pretty awful Didn't sleep well as room at front of hotel and heard suitcases wheeling past all night

Early flight stay

Posted Dec 20, 2013
Stayed one night as I had to catch an early flight from nearby Stanstead. The room was spacious and in good condition with basic stuff. Unfortunately there was no hot water available even though I informed the reception. I payed BP 6,50 for 'continental' breakfast which was a reap off as the offered food/beverages was next to nothing. Also the trasport rate to and from airport (BP 4, 50) is too expensive for a (literally) 5 min ride. It wont be my first option next time.

I missed my flight and had to stay over night and I wanted something cheap. This hotel ended up being fabulous and the perfect way to relax after a stressful situation. The staff was very nice, picked me up from the airport with in 15 mins of my call and the room was perfect. I was able to have a nice salad at the hotel and watch some tv, take a hot shower and enjoy my night. If I ever had to stay the night again in the area I most certainly would stay here again over a Hilton or Radisson.

Don't bother with the "Full English Breakfast"!

Posted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: The room, the bed, the staff and the price!
Cons: BREAKFAST!
Location: Really convenient for Stansted Airport terminal.
The hotel and rooms are fine, especially given the competetive prices, but don't believe the hype about the full english breakfast! In my mind, £8.95 is way too expensive for a very basic 4 item breakfast, and I wouldn't bother with it, although I would stay here again when flying from Stansted.

Price is right

I was arriving late in Stansted from Europe and did not went to travel to and across London at that hour. I needed a convenient hotel and room for 7-8 hours before continuing my journey. De Salis is close to the airport; their shuttle works (extra cost) and the room was large and clean. The overall decor is a little alarming but it served its purpose. I suspect that it is due for demolition and rebuilding if the volume at Stansted continues to build.
