Probably one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in NO IT IS THE WORST I’VE STAYED IN We didn’t see any one from the time we arrived till the time we left..... the hot water was piping hot yet the cold tap didn’t work when trying to run a bath so tried to have a shower and it was a trickle Cobwebs every where and the milk to have a tea or coffee was off it was more like cream Then the bar restaurant you advertised has got a wacking great chain and padlock on it It’s boarding on reporting it to trading standards ITS THAT POOR

Disgusting, will never use again.
It was disgusting. The room had no toiletries, no soap no nothing. When we went to shower there were a few o hot water in room. Number 8. There was no staff no one we could call to change the room. I will never recommend this hotel the service was also disgusting we called hotels.com the next day and not even they would refund us and help us. Diagusted by the service and this app.

Property looked run down from the outside. Reception area was awful. Restaurant and bar was “closed til further notice” Nobody on reception on arrival — had to call a number to get attention. Totally unprofessional when he did come out. Would not recommend at all

The hotel itself is old and dated, floors and stairs screechy etc. No breakfast or anything. But the room was clean and in a fairly good condition, so if all you need is sleep, it is fine.

The prompt given by this part of the review by Expedia says 'what is unique' about this property - so apt. It is unique - for all the wrong reasons!! Firstly all of the photos for this property are totally inaccurate - must have been taken years ago. You are unlikely to find staff on duty, there is definitely no bar, restaurant or breakfast available. There is likely to be lots of parking available as so few people stay here - apart from perhaps a few down and outs. We found unlocked rooms so probably anyone can walk in. There is definitely no security apart from a cctv camera in the unmanned reception area. The wifi code may be scribbled on a scrap of paper. If you read this review before you book (we sadly DIDN'T read reviews before we booked), please don't waste your money even it sounds a cheap option. The very bare room may be fairly clean but you are not likely to feel comfortable or safe staying here. We have raised a complaint with trading standards but 6 weeks after our stay the property is still listed on all the usual sites.

I was well looked after during my stay, with the receptionist Carl who helped me on a few things. The lady who cleaned my room, made the extra effort with putting in the little extras that I didn't even ask for but was well received. It might be an ageing hotel, but it served me very well. Also lovely tenants. I would definitely return if the occasion was to arise. Thank you!

Go somewhere else....
If I was on my own I would have not stayed (I often travel alone). Did not feel safe. No staff on site. Hand written notices all over the property stating closed until further notice... Husband and I have cancelled a future booking here and will be staying elsewhere...

Staff- perfect. No internet connection. At all!!! Gap between door and floor so all 4 hrs in hotel (11pm- 3.30am) I have been listening to tv in one of the rooms and conversations.

Drove past as tge name if the hitel was in small writing compared to the Indian restaurant that is also in the premises. Needs updating and staff who man reception to know if the room they are taking guest to has been vacated. Found it hard to get a taxi back as it has a bad reputation.

Nobody on the reception had to phone 2 different no to get booked in. Room was ok but didn’t feel safe as a women on her own. A lot of rough loud people about some bbqing in car park and noisy . Food in restaurant was good though.

No towels, kettle and a screw driver left in the room. Bathroom clean and brand new. Room, had to ask for towels (hand towels?) For after a shower, and a kettle. A screw driver had been left on the window sill. The bed was a cheap pine one that creasked and kept us both awake, there was one pillow each and the matteress uncomfortable In all honesty it suited the one night i needed a room and the owner allowed me to leave early and take the money thro expedia, (had to leave a not as no one was on reception). I have stayed in similar sized hotels in Thame and Haddenham (closer the London) and fir the same price the rooms are much nicer. However, for a single night cheapie it was fir for purpose.

The hotel was nice. the room was clean and tidy. the only downside was the mattress and pillows. the mattress I kept rolling into my other half so they could do with updating and the pillow felt non existent.. good location to the airport.

I was little worried booking this Hotel because of other reviews, but it was NOTHING wrong with it, and it was a lot for the money. I had room 16 and it was a large double bed, a large shower room with toilet. Towels, soaps and shampoo/shower-gel was provided and included. It was a bit 'old style' and perhaps a bit un-modern and un-updated, BUT IT WAS CLEAN and fantastic value for the price. The only thing to remember is that you REALLY need to look for the sign that it is the 'Skyline Hotel' because I drove past it twice without noticing it. It is in the same building as an Indian restaurant, and THAT is well signposted. I arrived about 5 in the afternoon and was told to check out at 11 next day at the latest. There was also a large flat screen TV in the room. To sum up; Its a lot of hotel room for the price!!! I will stay there again, as long as their prices stays low.

The hotel was in darkness at 5pm on a Saturday. No one came to help us check in after we rang the mobile number on the sign on the desk. We waited 20 minutes but our daughter was frightened by the place so we left.

Arrived at this place to find that it was overbooked and they had put me at another hotel nearby. Was not too upset as other hotel was a bit nearer Stansted for and early drop off in the morning. However when we arrived at this other hotel - well not a hotel but a bungalow on the side of the main road. It was run down but they had tarted up the rooms inside. We had the front room with a big bay window (secondary glazing) four window panes, three with cheap plastic blinds...the pane facing the main entrance to bungalow had no blind, no curtain - anyone entering had full view into the room. The grim creature who I think was the concierge often came out for a smoke and was visible through the window. Traffic noise seemed amplified through the secondary glazing and there was plenty of it until the wee hours. All in all, possibly the worst stay in any hotel I've ever experienced.

Mt daughter tried to call and they did not answer the reception phone in the evenings. There was not a phone in the room so we could not connect. Not that close to the airport. $31 in taxi. A bus for $7 each way. The restaurant had good Indian food.

C**photel no receptionist, no kettle in room, looked more like a out of date hostel, nothing like the pictures on your site, people crashing through doors throughout the night , certainly it worth the money paid at all, will never use this hotel again would rather sleep in the hedge, it be cleaner and feel safer !!!!! DO NOT BOOK ITS REAL Cr*P!!!!

budget rooms no frills
Avoid at all costs the room above the kitchen... unable to open windows to vent fresh air due to spice aromas, and upon entry to the room the heat and Indian flavours can be sampled through the floor it seemed. The furniture in the room was cheap (hand made bedside shelving from rough sawn timber with a couple of bedside tables around the room to help it all blend. The bathroom was clean and a good size. For a single night stop over its acceptable (just!)... parking is the plus point and what seems to be a decent Indian meal if thats your thing.

Staying at this hotel for three night while working near by the location is excellent for commuting specially to Stansted airport or M11 motorway, however comfort need to be addressed very noisy during the night specially from the bathroom toilet electric waste disposal unit had restless sleep due to nose and flood light directed at my windows that had thin curtains, remote control for the TV was missing had to request one, plenty of do it your self evidence I will not stay at this hotel again

A bloke named John, and the missing toilet paper
After arriving waiting 10 minutes to discover a "ring this number" (if you don't have a phone, you're stuffed.) 10 minutes later (it was actually 11 minutes), I was greeted by a bloke probably named John, who showed me to the room. After being silenced by the rubbish quality. Put my bags down, go to the toilet after a 4 hour drive, no toilet paper.. It's 1am so unlikely any shops will be open and John has gone back home. Who's laughing now when I bring toilet paper to hotels? I'd also like to thank whoever left the window wide open before I got there, for the -10degree temperature, and making it a wildlife sanctuary for half the insects in Essex.

I have been conned.
This is the first time I have complained to Hotels.com..I d booked this hotel at a greatly reduced price. But when I arrived at 5.15 pm on a freezing cold night I was told that they did not have a room booked for me. I was then told they would put me in a single room in a bungalow 4 miles away. At this time of night I had no option .This 4 bedroom house was in the middle of nowhere so I had to drive out to get some food. I booked a hotel with restaurant and got a print off confirmation. I did not book a bedroom in a guest house. I am now back at home and disgusted at my treatment I Request a total refund Mr Les Grantham ref 119836156716

Guy on reception tried to be helpful and I thank him for that. The cleaner did her best but it wasn't good enough. The Indian restaurant staff appeared to wish we weren't there! Only go if you like a curry smelling room. I've never left negative comments about where I've stayed before (and I have travelled home and away on a budget many times in the last 25 years) but the owners need to up their game if they want to stay in business.

Whilst the general appearance and cleanliness of our room was perfectly reasonable, the main problem for us lay with the peculiar buzzing sound that our room made. I'm a light sleeper anyway, and the constant hornet-esque sounds emanating from our bedside wall was enough to drive me crazy in the one night we stayed there. The gentleman who checked us in was a little odd, and very distant, but he did his job politely and with minimal disgruntled tutting. Overall, it served our needs (just about), but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I didn't have a particular vendetta against.

Not one I'd visit again!
On arrival on a very cold night was shown to a family room, although single room had been booked. Bedroom was freezing cold as windows were wide open. Was advised that cleaner had left them open. Radiator did not work, so room was cold all night. Towels rolled up on each bed were all wet, so unable to have shower in the morning. Shower leaked, so bathroom floor was wet in the morning. Bad light in room, with no bedside lamps. No light switch in bedroom - bedroom key needed to be removed in order to switch off lights.
