Beautiful Beach Getaway away from the Crowds

Posted Apr 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very nice accommodations. The hotel is about 15 minutes south of Playa Hermosa and 25 minutes south of Jaco. Nothing around but the this hotel and the beach and few neighbors. Great beaches all to yourself.

Great Beach

Posted Feb 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very friendly people made you feel at home. The best thing is the beach, all sand and no stones and secluded. The ocean was clear, clean and just the right temperature. If you surf the ocean there has some nice waves and you can rent a board right there at the hotel. The only thing I didn't like was that it in the middle of no where, which may be a plus for others.

Quiet Paradise

Posted Feb 16, 2014
Want your own gigantic Beach? Fabulous service, delicious food, comfortable beds, and beyond excellent shower pressure? Then this is your place. Looking for a party....head further south to queopos/Manuel Antonio. Plenty to do, The front desk assisted in booking 2 very reasonable and fun local excursions (horseback riding and fishing). Would recommend a car rental for day trips to Manuel Antonio (30 min drive), local eats (Soda Rafealita in Parrita) and if u want any night life (Jaco).

The wifi internet only works at the restaurant, it should work through the entire facility. It's the only negative I found

Excellent stay-updates on the way

Posted Jan 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Beautiful grounds on a fabulous, large black sand beach privately located between two major towns Jaco and Quepos. The Resort was purchased a onto ago and the new owners are planning some updating which will be welcome, but for the price and beauty, still well worth the visit and highly recommended.

Excellent location, near a beautiful beach. Rooms and facility nice and clean. Lack of water activities in the area - Bring your own boogie, surf board, toys for the kids

Nice, Quiet Getaway

Posted May 27, 2013
Pros: clean, comfortable and convenient
Cons: no outside ventilation in bathroom; TV in room was old with poorly attached cable cord, restaurant chairs were worn out and uncomfortable.
Location: Esterillos is a gorgeous beach, ideal for quiet getaway. For night life, shopping or tourist attractions, you have to drive to Jaco or Manuel Antonio
The staff was friendly and helpful and the tropical gardens were well maintained. There’s also abundant tropical wildlife on the property, including iguanas, colorful lapas (macaws) and other birds, and an occasional crab will wander in off the beach, which is just a few steps from the open-air restaurant. We booked the standard room, which was $120 per night (low season, by the way); taxes and fees added another $15. Breakfast for two was included. The room was spacious and comfortable, with two queen beds and a nicely tiled bathroom. Great for a weekend getaway, but if you're looking for night life, shopping or tourist attractions, you'll have to drive 20 minutes north to Jaco or farther south to Quepos and Manuel Antonio. On the minus side, there was no outside ventilation in the bathroom; the one window is high up and for sunlight only. The TV was one of the older models with a very poorly attached cable cord which kept coming loose, causing the picture to roll and flicker. The chairs in the restaurant are well worn and not comfortable, with the foam cushions in most of them completely exhausted from years of use, and there is a large pothole as you exit the hotel that is almost impossible to avoid. Nevertheless, for the value, we'd give the hotel 4 out of 5 stars.
