“Could use some more help”
I have to say the rooms have been remodeled and the beds and pillows are quite comfortable, but the hotel stills seem so dated. The lobby and amenities need some major help. We were placed in a second story room that overlooked the roof portico. It was so disgusting looking out at all the cigarette butts all over the roof outside our non smoking room. Someone needs to get a yard blower and clean this disgusting view. Somewhat shocked that this is a Hilton property. Still a time warp.
“Fine hotel in Downtown Eugene”
Stayed here on the night of a big Ducks football game. What I wanted was a quiet night's rest which I was very happy about. The traffic noise seemed loud and I didn't get an afternoon nap but I slept really good at night with little to no noise. Breakfast was quite good with many, many choices. I would go back here again although the cost is more than others in the area. Go Ducks!!!!
“Nice place to locate in Eugene”
We spent four nights in September 2011. The location provided easy walking distatance access to food, shopping, and entertainment in the redeveloped downtown area. The AMTRACK station is two blocks away and offers daily service to Portland and Seattle. You do hear the train horns but it was not continuous. The hotel has been updated with new furniture, granite, carpet and we found it very pleasant. The hotel is older and the low ceilings and smaller rooms are something that can't really be changed. They are one of the few full service hotels in Eugene and offered a reasonably priced room service menu. Overall it was near all the highways, the University of Oregon, and the Willamette River. We found it to be an excellent choice and wourld stay again.
“nice time”
Very comfortable bed. Hotel conveniently located. Staff very helpful. Coffee in room terrible, but good coffee available in main lobby. Stayed before, would stay again.
“Eugene Hilton doesn't have much to offer”
Booked 3 months ago on Expedia to get a good rate w/ breakfast buffet and to use a coupon. On a very slow Friday at 3 pm check in we were given the 2nd floor dungeon room that looks at the brick wall and has all the loud mechanical equipment surrounding. Hotel wasn't busy so don't know why we were punished by being put on a overflow floor. In a hurry to get to an event, we waited till the next morning to request a new room. Mgt. wasn't particularly pleasant when we asked to change but said they would hold a room until our return at 3 pm. Surprise, they didn't hold a room and we had to settle for the only king left on the "train noisy" north side next to the super loud ice machine. Smug desk clerk never mentioned breakfast buffet and I forgot so we never received it even though it was paid for. No free internet, no free self parking, $250 hold for incidentals on our credit card on a prepaid room . We were charged for a bottle of water we didn't drink and I had to call and have it taken off the bill. Why does it have to be such a hassle to go on vacation? It is really frustrating to pay for a service not presented to you at check in as with the breakfast. I shouldn't have to remind them of what I paid for. Was I being punished for booking with Expedia? Can't wait for the new hotel down the street to open. They'll lose all our future football game stays and other business trips to Eugene. Building is old and bathrooms very small. Two can't get ready at the same time.
“Not impressed”
The room was merely adequate. The pillows were all too hard.
“Great location, service and quality!”
We previously stayed in Eugene, years ago at another location. This hotel was in a more convenient location, our room was spacious and up to date. We enjoyed their Easter brunch which was excellent., When we visit in the future we will stay here. Thank you for the great rate, I have not been a follower of Expedia and this particular trip has changed my opinion.
“Outstanding guest service!”
This was our first visit Eugene as we were visiting the UO. The hotel staff, particularly in the lobby, was extremely kind and helpful. We had picked the hotel for the free airport shuttle service and location to UO, but I would absolutely go back due to the guest service. When we arrived at the airport to depart Eugene, my son realized he left his cell phone in the hotel lobby. The hotel staff had the shuttle driver make another round trip to bring us the phone before our flight left. That is only one of the thoughtful things that were done to make our stay wonderful.
“Good but could be better”
The hotel itself was very nice and conveniently located. Their pet charge was a bit excessive. Restaurant was nice for breakfast and reasonable enough for a hotel. This hotel is advertised as a "No Smoking" hotel. When the guests next door to us lit up we notified the front desk and security intervened. That was good. However, there was no follow-up oversight of that room (college kids) and they soon lit up again and were up until 3AM. That was bad. It made no sense for them to put us right next door to college kids when there were many empty rooms on our floor. We felt that the front desk made decisions based on their convenience rather than customer comfort.
“Nice hotel, excellent housekeeping, convenient to downtown, kind of $$$”
I attended a conference at this hotel so it was convenient to stay there. The hotel staff is great, very accomodating, and helpful. They have excellent housekeepers. The room was nice - maybe a little overpriced. Nice amenities, nice restaurant on location, convenient walking distances to many places downtown. The only downside (besides the price) was the train. It goes through Eugene MANY times day and night. The tracks are about two blocks away from the hotel. The engineer is a little enthusiastic with the whistle. Definitely not the hotel's fault but something to consider. They do provide earplugs. Asking for a room on the south side of the hotel would probably help.
