“Going Green is a Good Thing!”
Although the Eugene Hilton is 'dated' and worn in spots, it appears that they are making improvements across the board. They've been going green, and that's a good thing. They were in the process of revamping their menu in the restaurant. Although we didn't dine there this time, we would give it a try in the future. The menu looked good - taking advantage of local products in season. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfy. Nice flat screen TV's. I appreciate the cotton bed linens and the fluffy pillows. Hopefully, the furnishings in the rooms will be updated as they've become worn. This is a university town - lots of visitors and visiting sports teams stay at the Hilton; hence, the wear and tear over time. The bathroom was quite small in our double queen room, but the room itself was more than adequate. Being able to open the sliding glass door to the outside is a plus - especially in the morning to let the fresh air in! Even though this hotel is nothing exceptional, it's a good value when visiting Eugene. We would stay there again!
“Not as bad as most reviews indicated....”
OK, so this Hilton may not be quite up to global Hilton standards, but keep in mind it is in Eugene. I thought that the hotel quality was fine, the location was good, the facilities nice and the staff reasonably helpful. While I would recommend this hotel, I would note the following: 1) Attitudes of the staff in General... I don't know if the management is inexperienced or it is simply that this is a laid-back, university town, but almost all the staff seemed to be to casual in their attitudes. When a customer comes in the door, professional hotel people should speak politely and ask how they can help. 2) It is a University town, so there will be many younger people partying. The walls and windows were somewhat thinner than they should be; so it was a bit noisy. 3) One side of the hotel is closer to the train tracks; the train is relatively loud when it goes by. Kudos to Hilton for proactively providing ear-plugs and a white noise machine to counter this problem.
“Eugene hotel”
Hotel is very convenient for downtown activities. The bathroom door did not fully close. The accordion closet door would not fully close and the mirror on the door was cracked. Service and courtesy were excellent by all members of the staff.
“OK Hotel”
Good Business Hotel, a tad on the expensive side./
“restaurant”
The restaurant was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and the staff.
“nice time”
Very comfortable bed. Hotel conveniently located. Staff very helpful. Coffee in room terrible, but good coffee available in main lobby. Stayed before, would stay again.
“Fine Hotel”
Room,Service, and Food in the Hotel resteraunt were all excellent. Our room faced 6th street and was close to a night club that produced some raucous late night noise. Otherwise we would happily stay there again
“Great Town”
Nice location near 5th street. My only complaint is slow elevators. Friendly helpful staff ...good bar and dining area
“Conflicted”
The train running throughout the night was ungodly and so uncomfortable. We had to move to the other side of the hotel.Otherwise, the experience was fantastic. The staff was AMAZING!!!
“Good but could be better”
The hotel itself was very nice and conveniently located. Their pet charge was a bit excessive. Restaurant was nice for breakfast and reasonable enough for a hotel. This hotel is advertised as a "No Smoking" hotel. When the guests next door to us lit up we notified the front desk and security intervened. That was good. However, there was no follow-up oversight of that room (college kids) and they soon lit up again and were up until 3AM. That was bad. It made no sense for them to put us right next door to college kids when there were many empty rooms on our floor. We felt that the front desk made decisions based on their convenience rather than customer comfort.
