A favorite stop in Oregon on our way to californiaPosted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: We had our usual garden room with a fireplace & enjoyed the live music in the pub & had dinner there while listening to the music. Most relaxing!
Cons: The hotel needs a little sprucing up but the staff were friendly & helpful. Expedia on the other hand should check their rates & information.
Location: Cottage Grove, Oregon and the surrounding area are known for their old covered bridges. We stayed an extra day a few years ago & enjoyed touring.
Booked after looking online & phoning, turned out to be Expedia who took the booking & confirmed a rate. Upon arrival we found out our 'special Expedia room rate' was actually higher than the Village Green rate & it did not include dinner for 2 & a bottle of Oregon wine. We ended up paying about $25.00 more for the room & still had to buy dinner & a drink. To say we were not impressed with Expedia would be putting it mildly. Don't blindly book & think Expedia rates are always the best. Lesson learned.

Older Hotel - TerrificPosted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: It is quaint and comfortable.
Cons: Nothing really, they are going to need a new roof soon.
Location: Just off HIghway 5, not sure of places near by.
Had a great stay at this hotel. It is older but a terrific place to stay, rooms are clean, comfortable and the staff were pleasant and efficient. We will stay there the next time we are passing through.

Cool retro, bad smellPosted Feb 15, 2015
Pros: The staff and the 'retro'
Cons: The smell in the rooms, old musty, yuck
Our room was very 'retro', I thought well done... The problem being...... The smell, that musty old smell, like a bad rental house sorta smell..... Replace the carpets and seriously paint, might help that...The grounds and rooms a bit 'care worn', but the old fixtures were in perfect condition.... The staff was all very helpful and pleasant

this place what used to be the cream of the crop of Cottage Grove for a place to stay and it still could be if they fixed up the rooms and painted but left the landscaping alone because the grounds are still beautiful but for the price you are paying you expect to not have peeling paint or tubs that looks like they've been around forever. the staff was awesome they were very sweet and pleasant very accommodating any requests that I made which was very few.

Well maintained vintage touches - a nice surprisePosted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Parking in front of our room, back door to outside covered patio (shared), vintage touches
Cons: More flat surfaces to put our luggage
We'd been on a road trip staying in one corporate hotel after another for about 10 days when we booked this hotel, expecting more of the same. The room we stayed in was spacious, the beds comfortable, the sheets were soft. There was an in-bathroom sink and another sink - both in beautiful late 50's/early 60's vintage condition.

Nice getaway in rural OrEgon, great OutdoorescsapePosted Jan 2, 2015
We chose the Village Green last minute to escape firework noise in Eugene. The room we had was older and pet friendly, but clean and comfortable beds. Our only complaint was the heater was off and it was freezing cold, temps in the 20's. Would have been nice if someone could have turned up the heat. We appreciated the pet friendly policy and a fenced out door patio! The grounds are lovely, lounge had live music, free breakfast in the morning, right by the Row River Trail, staff were very nice. We would like to come back in the Spring and enjoy the gardens and wine country.

Convenient and nice hotelPosted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: Reception area, grounds, restaurant, lounge.
Cons: See above
Overall this is a nice hotel with pleasant staff and a good restaurant and loung as well as pleasant outdoor gardens and pool (enjoyable in the summertime.) The rooms are adequate but unless you request a delux room they need to be updated. Only the delux ones have been redone. Beds are still comfortable but carpets and flooring need replacing and the furniture is old. Bathroom facilities are ok but not new and again the tile floor should be replaced as well as the baseboards, etc. I would stay again IF I could have a delux room. The choice in Cottage Grove is limited.

Good value for quick stop while passing through.Posted Dec 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
Staff very friendly and helpful. Older facility, but clean. Close to freeway. Some road noise. Able to accommodate parking for vehicle with boat.
