Vintage...like motels in days past

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Just keep improving the buildings...lots of exterior paint and shake/roof repair needed.
Location: Just were passing through. Close to freeway.
Remembered this spot from when we drove through Oregon years ago and decided to book a stay. Very warm welcome and lovely staff. Room was huge, but decor was definitely from days gone by...especially the pink bathroom. Very clean with comfortable king bed, but could have had more pillows. Breakfast was great...nice selection. It looks like management is in process of updating. I hope they are able to keep this motel and its history. Will probable stop by again.

Nice Hotel with Fantastic gardens to wonder throug

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: The mattresses could have been a bit softer - if you like firm they were perfect.
Location: Gardens described above. Location convenient to going north or south . Easy to find in Cottage Grove. wineries nearby, nice restaurants
The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. A bit older but very quaint. Rooms were clean and comfortable. But the best part of the property were it's little gardens tucked around the property - and they were ample. Beautiful florals and garden scapes to delight and revive a sense of adventure and discovery. Must see.

The Gardens are Amazing

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: The gardens and pool.
Cons: The rooms need updating, and a refrigerator/freezer.
The gardens are amazing and magical. The pool area is very nice and clean. The room is old, there is a significant gap at the bottom of both doors, and there is no refrigerator. When I asked if they could freeze my two ice packs that I use to keep medication cold, they said they would. When I picked them up the next morning I was told by a different office person that they should not have put it in their employee-use fridge, and had only refrigerated it and didn't freeze it. It is 90 degrees most of the day in in-land Oregon.

Standard King room

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Hotel was in a perfect location to hit for biking and close to stores and downtown.
Cons: Locate an ice machine at last section of motel rooms.
Location: Next to bike trail for covered bridges tour. Beautiful water falls to drive and hike to along with mining claims you can do a day loop around.
Room was very dated but comfortable. I enjoyed the restful atmosphere the motel offered. Surprised, we were right by the freeway but traffic did not disturb us once in the room. Ice machine location was a walk and very hot due to laundry in the same room so opted to go across the facility to get ice, nothing around our room. Rain caused bugs and leaves to form on the pool but the next day when we wanted pool time, the pool and hot tub had been cleaned and was very refreshing. Staff was very good about making sure grounds were maintained.

Totally inthralled with this hotel.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
This was my fourth stay here and ALL of them have been far above average. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are extremely comfortable. I have stayed in all levels of room - from a single with the minimum amenities to the most decked out with microwave, fridge and a fireplace. All have HDTV, WiFi, and private patios. The gardens are lovely and make for a nice quiet evening stroll after dinner at their restaurant that serves an excellent cuisine. Live music in their lounge is a great way to end the evening. It's also conveniently near shopping and fast food if that is your need. HIGHLY recommend!

Scalding hot water and bugs

Posted Jun 26, 2014
So I'll start with the good: the grounds are very nice, as is the front desk staff. The beds aren't the most comfortable, but they aren't uncomfortable. Having both shampoo AND conditioner in the shower dispenser is a good thing. HOWEVER. Every other hotel of this price range I've stayed at has had more reliable Wi-Fi as well as a minifridge and a microwave. They've also all had more outlets to plug things into. (All available outlets here were next to sinks.) None of these were the end of the world, though. I might have booked again the next time I drove through (as I do a lot), had not two other things happened. First, I found a bug in my bed. Not sure what it was, but it looked pinchy. It was unsettling...but bugs happen. Then when I took a shower in the morning, the water had exactly one, SCALDING temperature. My fiance had to continually fill the ice bucket with cold sink water in order to make the shower tolerable. It made no sense. No matter what I did, the water never cooled down, it only got hotter. I needed aloe when I was done. Then the same thing happened when my fiance showered. How do you even HAVE that much hot water? Would not return.

Lovely Gardens

The grounds were nice to walk around after a long drive and it had a small patio for the dog that had a small garden. The bed was hard as a rock. The price was good and the lobby was charming.
