“Let down by terrible service in the restaurant”

OK, so you don't tend to stay at Campanile motels for the cuisine, but we were tired and just wanted something quick and tasty. Bizarrely the menu we were given was in multiple languages, including English, but the waitress didn't understand what we were asking for until we asked in French. The food was unexciting, though edible, but the service was diabolical. The waitress didn't seem to want to serve us at all - difficult to get more drinks, took forever to get any food. And it was very expensive, considering the average quality and small quantity of food. We have had some good meals at Campaniles in the past (Dijon last year was particularly good), so this was a disappointment. The motel itself was clean and dependable and the other staff friendly.

“Evreux overnight”

Overall the hotel was fine and the restaurant lived up to expectations. The main problem was in finding the hotel. We had a lot of difficulty as the directions to the hotel did not include the general area (Madeleine) and it took us an hour and a quarter to find the hotel from the centre of Evreux after enlisting the aid of a local lady (who spoke English) and a taxi driver. Clear and concise directions would be a godsend. It is fortunate we arrived in daylight as teh hotel is set back off the main road and is not immediately obvious.

The hotel provides a good basic room with a great shower, loads of pressure and hot water.
