Loved it

Cons: Fan was supplied but for summer an air conditioner would have been appreciated.
Complimentary tea and cookies at 8 pm was an especially nice touch. Breakfast was incredible and served expertly. Not at all like the standard free breakfast we have had before. Whole stay was far beyond our expectations.

Comfortable hotel.

Pleasant, welcoming arrival. Great meal in hotel restaurant. Appreciated offer of self guided tour of replica Victorian kitty corner from hotel. All staff very nice, esp. Lady with office in back of old inn and manager in the hotel. They provided history and local insights.

Only problem was the noise from the bar due to a party.

Best place to stay in Eureka!

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Everything was so much more than I was expecting. We arrived in time for Hor d'orves, and then we to the bar for our complimentary glass of wine. The bar is astounding! They even had a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 15 year, for those who know what that is. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was amazing! Not a continental breakfast, but all cooked by a five star chef. Worth every penny!

My girlfriend and I had driven through the town of Eureka last year. When we decided to visit again this year, I told her that we had to stay at the Carter Inn! We had such a wonderful time. We have recommended it to our friends that live in San Francisco as a must see!
