Quiet area and close to freeway.

Posted May 21, 2015
Cons: Lower prices by 10%.
Location: Nice location....there's a shopping center and car wash nearby as well as gasoline stations.
I spent two trouble free nights at this hotel. It was comfortable, clean, and close to a shopping center, which included a nice Mexican restaurant. The pool and continental breakfast were nice features.

we enjoyed our stay, staff was super friendly, and helpful. The room was awesome. I would stay there again on our next visit. I loved that the hotel was so pet friendly, I did not have our dog, but I so many people with their pets. Just overall a great experience.

It will do. Close to HSU.

Posted May 13, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Fix the hot tub.
Location: HSU or the beach.
The hotel is conveniently located off of the highway. The room was good enough. I was disappointed that the jacuzzi tub was out of order, and if I had known, I might have chosen one of the hotel's competitors nearby. The desk clerk was very courteous.

It was a place to sleep and shower

Posted Apr 27, 2015
It was a place to sleep and shower haha they made this big deal about a clean sanitized remote and it was nasty. I don't watch tv and had no desire to touch the remote anyway so it worked out. One of the towel smelled real bad besides that Everyone was very friendly

A Dissapointment in Acata. Ca.

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Cleanliness, change the spa water, be more helpful at front desk
Location: Sketchy location, lots of fast food, no acess to beach.
Our hotel was sticky, everything we touched was sticky, The spa was dirty and the bed was too soft and slooped down on one side. We were so grossed out that we left a day early. When we required about a refund, the clerk begrugingly said he could call Expedia, but he thought it would be a wast of time.

Excellent hotel for the price.

Pros: The TV kept doing strange things. It would freeze and then skip ahead leaving you missing half of a sentence. It wasn't too bad,.
Location: We came into the area to have a family get together. The hotel was close to enough to the Arcata plaza to be convenient without being too close.
I've stayed in other hotels in the same area, for roughly the same price I paid for this one, and the whole experience was much better here. When I came in the room it was clean, had a new flat screen TV and no less than five pillows on the bed! The reason we stayed at this particular hotel was because of its U-shape that keeps the parking lot enclosed and safe. Not that it's a bad neighborhood, but who doesn't like the extra protection?

Good working class hotel

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Quiet comfortable and not expensive.
Location: This is near Highway 101 outside of Arcata. You can visit the nature center, fun downtown shops or drive up to the coast from here.
this is a comfortable hotel for families or other travelers on a budget. The continental breakfast is better than average. The beds are comfortable - a big plus for the travel weary. We like having a fridge in the room for fruits and veggies while we travel. The place is quiet and well maintained. There is a spa and swimming pool but we have never used them. We return to this motel when we visit family because we can sleep in a good bed in a quiet area. There have never been problems with noisy neighbors. The front desk was responsive when we told them we didn't have a "Do not Disturb" sign for our room.

Spring 2015

Posted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: Comfortable rooms.
Cons: I can't think of a thing.
Location: We were on a road trip and just stopping through so we engaged with Bandon further south which was interesting and delightful.
The pool was excellent. The breakfast was wonderful. The room was comfortable. The pet potty area was convenient. We couldn't ask for more.

Really wish we'd stayed in another hotel

Posted Mar 8, 2015
We went up to Arcata for a grad school interview, so we needed very little: just two beds to sleep in at night before the interview. We arrived around 7 pm, and the staff was nice, and set us up with a room key. After lugging all our stuff to the room on the top floor we open the door to find.... A mess. The room had not been cleaned. The sheets were all over one bed, the other was pristine and unused. The bathroom was filled with watery towels and half used products. My dad and I looked at each other with horror and left all our stuff in the car. We went to the help desk and she blamed the cleaning staff, and then told us the only other room available in the place that has two beds was a pet friendly room. We weren't happy, but we also had no way of getting our money back if we decided that wasn't acceptable. We grudgingly told her it was fine and she messed up our room keys twice before finally sending us on our way. The comforter had tears, and the Orange clashed horribly with the lime green walls and disgusting mud and moss carpet. There were scratches on the back of the door from dogs in the past. We were up worrying about fleas and ticks. The only thing I can say was positive about the hotel was their complimentary continental breakfast. There was fresh fruit, hot coffee and bagels for toasting with lots of spreads. I was rather pleased with that. But other than that? Stay far far away if you can help it!
