“Would stay there again”
The hotel itself is very nice, clean and tastefully decorated. On our four day stay with our two kids (2yrs old and 5 months old) we used the pool and jacuzzi every day, fitness room twice, both were very nice We ate the included buffet breakfast each morning which was bagels, fruit, yogurt, cereal, some kind of pre-made omelet things (didn't eat), but the really cool thing was a making your own waffles with batter on their rotating waffle iron (those were really tasty and we ate them every day). The room had a fridge and a microwave so it was super easy for use to pick up a gallon of milk at the Rays supermarket right next door and always have a bottle at the ready for our two year old. There are only a few restaurants right around the hotel most of which are roadside chains, so eat on the plaza in Arcata before going back to the hotel or just eat fruit and ready-made salad for dinner from the supermarket next door, which is what we did. Overall the other guests were definitely of a nicer class, but one night there was a a group of locals partying in the room next to ours that was unbearable. Our kids slept through the partying all night long but we woke up several times so at 4am when they woke me up again, I called the front desk. The staff was very prompt and proactive about it, and within seconds of getting off the phone, I could hear the phone ring next door and the party broke up. I could also hear a staff member knock on their door 5 minutes later to double check.
