Nice hotel close to St.LouisPosted Nov 9, 2013
Pros: Indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and pool table were very nice. Restaurant was good.
Cons: Mattress was a little too firm.
Location: Six Flags is next door, plenty to do in St.Louis.
We were attending a wedding at this hotel and decided to spend the night for a little mini vacation. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet on Sunday morning and the staff was very friendly.

It is great to hear you stayed after the wedding you attended. I will be sure the Sunday breakfast staff knows you enjoyed the buffet and friendly staff.

Exactly what we were looking for!Posted Sep 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was beautiful and the location couldn't have been any better. We went to six flags two days in a row and this hotel offered free shuttle service to and from the front gate of six flags all day long. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great. If you are going to Six Flags St. Louis this is the hotel I would recommend. Saved us 20 dollars a day in parking alone and 40 dollars off multiple day passes to six flags by getting them at the hotel.

Somebody dropped the ballPosted Aug 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Suppose to have non smoking room. When we arrived only had smoking available in main hotel. Went to the room, whole floor smelled like an ash tray, room was terrible. Finally got a non smoking room in the back building but had to walk out and around that building, through two doors, down stairs just to get to pool. Took forever to get checked in. Very bad experience. Not even close to what we reserved.

Average, family hotelPosted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: history, lobby is cool, staff was nice enough.
Cons: not sure how to get the musty smell out. disappointed there was no gift shop where i could purchase things i forgot, like a hair brush
Lots of kids and noise. Room was dark and a little stale smelling, but the history and character of the place was cool. It did the job for a place to sleep, but wasn't much more than that.

Awesome location if visiting Six Flags.Posted Jul 29, 2013
The hotel was very convenient for our travel plans. We got to the hotel early (prior to check-in time) and we were allowed to pre-register. Our plans were to register and then head over to Six Flags for the day. This worked out perfectly. We purchased our discounted Six Flags tickets when we checked-in, shuttled over to the park and shuttled back at the end of the day. When we returned to the hotel, we just showed them our pre-registration shuttle pass and they had our keys waiting for us for our room. We booked a pool-side room which was a great location, the kids loved it. The only down-side to this was that it was a Friday night and the hotel was very full, which in return led to a very full Holidome, however it got very quiet at 11 pm when the pool closed. We also decided to book this hotel due to the fact that kids under 12 eat free at the restaurant. After looking at the pricing of the menu, we opted to NOT eat at the hotel, especially after the reviews we read online about the quality of the food. We ordered Jimmy Johns for dinner and had it delivered to the room. Then for breakfast we ate at the McDonalds right next door and spent just as much as we would have if we ate in the restaurant. All-in-all it was a pleasant experience and we would definitely consider staying at this hotel again in the future.

Clean & ConvenientPosted Jul 26, 2013
Location: next to Six Flags
The hotel is in need of remodeling, however it is clean and is conveniently located across the street from Six Flags. The shuttle to/from Six Flags was great! The pool area was great for the kids but was not monitored by staff. There were several smaller children in the hot tub without parents. My kids loved the pool. It was worth the money to not have to deal with parking at the theme park.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your stay. Most guests visiting Six Flags take advantage of the shuttle. Not only saving on parking but being dropped off at the gate. I am sorry you did not see a staff member monitoring activity by the pool. We do schedule staff to monitor the area and we will certainly share your comments with our staff.

Overall good experience.Posted Jul 24, 2013
Pros: As I stated above, the staff of this particular hotel made a lasting impression.
Cons: Not whole lot of improvement needed. The historic value of the hotel would be depreciated should any major changes be made. No exhaust in the bath.
Location: Great location. Of course Six Flags, which was our ultimate destination, but there is shopping and restaurants within minutes of the hotel.
This being our second stay at this particular facility within a 5 year range, we obviously had no major issues in the past, or on this trip. Check in went smooth and quick as it did with our last stay, and the hotel met our requests for needed amenities quickly. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly, and the management should take great pride in this. Around every turn we were met with a smile and at minimum, and friendly "hello", but we were usually asked how our stay was going, whether or not we needed anything, or if there was anything that could be done to make our stay better. The staff were impressive!
