Poor Quality Inn

Posted Sep 1, 2014
The room was hot and stuffy and there was no air conditioner. The bathroom was poorly lit and the tissue dispenser was empty. The coffee pot had not been rinsed out from the previous guest. Faucet handles squeaked and didn't turn off all the way. Shower curtain didn't fit.

Bad bad bad

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Cons: Front desk. Listen to the hotel guests
Came in late. very hard to find the back rooms and the entrée for the back rooms Of hotel. The coffee maker the fridge and the microwave where all placed in the bathroom. That was not very sanitary. The beds where okay. We stayed two nights and after three times walking up to the front desk they finally after hours gave us clean towels and coffee. They are very rude and not real nice.

Beautiful on the outside, terrible on the inside.

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Needs new management, new mattresses, TV's and upgrading.
Location: Location was okay, but would never stay here again.
Checked into the hotel and they gave us a room that hadn't been cleaned up. Vaccum still in the room, dog hair on the beds. Insisted on another room and it was almost just as bad. Beds were very lumpy, TV didn't work and staff didn't seem to care.

On a noisy road

Posted Aug 21, 2014
The hotel is located on a busy road and in an area where you may not want to walk. The best thing was the bed, which had been upgraded and was GREAT. Otherwise, an ordinary slightly dingy room.

Taking Daughter to College

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Great location
Cons: Would like a waffle maker or some other items at breakfast - was a somewhat boring meal.
Location: Eureka Library (2 blocks away), historic downtown Eureka (4 blocks away), Samoa Island - short drive over scenic bridge
Stayed 2 nights as part of trip dropping daughter off at Humboldt - this hotel is conveniently located (about 10 minutes from school) and in walking distance of historic downtown Eureka which is worth a visit. Also close by is the Eureka Library - lucked out and caught their annual sale (bag full of books for a buck!). So location is everything here - hotel itself is fairly average, free breakfast is ok, price was average, staff was friendly and helpful. Second time we've stayed here now and will probably keep on until daughter graduates or gets a car of her own.

Good location, but...

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Location and breakfast.
Cons: Customer services. Carpet replacement. Odor removal (somehow).
Location: It's just around the corner from historical buildings and a few minutes away from Old Town.
I understand that we wouldn't have much options if we brought dogs (small, but two). But it does not justify that cigarette smells of the "non-smoking" room. This is a typical old motel that has been fixed up just a little and now is hooked up with the big name hotel chain. This is a motel, not "Inn" or "Hotel". Also, the staff seemed unprofessional. One point we saw a young child screaming and jumping around the front desk person (owner?). I guess she was already tired from having the kid around at work. She sounded pretty fussy and unfriendly to us. We saw a different younger person at the front desk at the time of check-out, but this person was not friendly, either. She was like a zombie. Although breakfast was pretty good for the type of hotel, staff there looked unprofessional, too. He was just sitting and watching TV.

Noisy- too close to the highway.

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Better than others
Cons: Staff, renovations inside
Location: Wouldn't go out.
If you need a hotel in Eureka then this is ok. We saw other places and it was far worse compared to this. The room was large and clean enough- but I wouldn't say it was great...but compared to others, this was one of the good hotels. It was overpriced for the location- which was noisy. Eureka was not a place I would take my family- but unfortunately it had to be one of our stops. Unfortunately all the campgrounds were full (we have a trailer)- would have rather camp as the RV sites were in far better shape. We asked for pillow cases and got it 4 hours later after My wife called the second time. There were many types of people that a young family should not be exposed to.
