“facilities, no breakfast unacceptable for rating”
facilities unacceptable for the expedia rating
“Alright for the price”
While the room as nice and it was close to where I neede to be, it was very noisy from street traffic. And I was woken up at 5:45am to someone at the bus stop yelling at someone. If you stay her, ask for a room away from the street
“musty”
The Hotel smells like an old smokers hotel that is closed up and needs to be aired out
“Disappointing”
This hotel backs to the Eureka Fire Station and is right on Hwy 101. There is no air conditioning and it hasnt seen any updating in quite some time. It had no movie channels and a very old T.V. We won't be back. Expedia on the other hand was very helpful with this trip as they always are!
“Clean, Decent, and Economical”
Check in was a bit cumbersome. The young lady at the desk seemed to have a bit of trouble. The key card would not open our room door. When I told the girl at the desk, she said that was the last king and would I mind a room with 2 queens. I told her if that's all she had, it would be fine. She upgraded us to a room with a jacuzzi. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, one block north to Starbuck's, one block south to Denny's. A 5 to 10 minute walk to old town and the Lost Coast Brewery. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.
“Awesome private balcony!”
The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy at first, but it ended up being fine. While not super easy to get to from 101-S (darned one-way streets!), the hotel room was clean and comfortable and had an adorable private balcony! There was a Starbucks LITERALLY down the street and the late check-out time made everything that much easier in the morning. I would go back and I would recommend this to fellow Eureka-bound travelers, as well.
“One star maybe....”
The hotel was maybe a one star at best. There was no breakfast, I saw no sauna, spa or exercise facility. The elevator area was dirty as were the carpets in our room. The room cooling did not work, we had to open windows (with no screens) to get some sleep. I would definately not recommend this hotel based on our experience. The facility is old and not well maintained.
“Good value & location”
The name may be a little misleading; the Scottfield is not what I would consider a place to recommend to executives whose company is paying the tab. But it appears to have had significant renovation recently, and it meets my basic requirements: a clean room and a good, clean bed. I don't usually spend a lot of time in the room when I travel, so most amenities are not particularly meaningful to me. The two amenities I think they should improve are the towels and the shampoo. The towels were what I would expect at Motel 6, and the shampoo smelled like something I'd rather not put on my hair. If you're as picky as I am, carry your own towel and shampoo - and enjoy the value.
“Good home base for exploring the region”
We stayed two days while touring the Redwood Parks-needed a comfortable place to shower and sleep. This place worked great. It is an older property and we made a joke out of the number of "sorry for the incovienience" signs... no continential breakfast, broken access locks, sauna not working, etc.... But it was clean comfortable and in a good location...downtown Eureka- a couple block walk to great breakfast burritos, Starbucks, and Lost Coast Brewery (my new favorite pub) The staff was really great-wanted to help and obviously worked hard. If you have basic needs from a place to stay it is a good option.
“Decent hotel for the price”
Executive sounds like over the hill but its a pretty decent hotel for a few nights stay, compared to bunch of other motels in the area. Nothing fancy 'bout the hotel, rooms are clean and comfortable. Location is close to old town, has access to restuarants and attractions of old town. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
