Great Hotel but Casino needs some work.

Posted Jan 18, 2015
The rooms are fantastic. My wife loves to stay at Tulelip for the showers in the room alone but the rooms are spacious and up to date. The casino on the other hand while nice is in desperate need of a new ventilation system to cut down on the smoke. I have been to many Vegas style casinos and this is one of the worst as far as the smokey environment. The game offering at this casino are the best in the state of Washington though. Overall good place to game and a great place to stay.

Nice hotel but needs a refresh

Posted Jan 14, 2015
Pros: Quiet, comfortable and adjoined to the casino and restaurants.
Cons: Rooms and furniture could use a refresh.
We've been to the casino a few time but never stayed at the hotel until last week. Heard very good things about the hotel and while it was a very comfortable stay and the staff were friendly, the place was a little underwhelming. On the positive: The rooms were spacious and bed was very comfortable. Nice bathrooms with multi-headed separate shower which was cool. The room was also surprisingly quiet and we could hear no noise from the interstate just across the parking lot. On the negative: the furniture in the room was a little worn with lots of scratches and such from use. My wife found a lot of hair on the floor by the toilet as soon as we got in the room; needless to say that's not pleasant. There was a nefarious character hanging around the elevators in the lobby asking people to let him come up to one of the floors. Fortunately no one was letting him up. We walked over to the front desk and let them know and they called security right away, but security didn't show up for several minute (we were sitting in the lobby so had a good vantage point); by that time the guy had hassled countless people and had left. We were pretty surprised by how long it took. One more thing to consider - the hotel/casino has several restaurants but be forewarned that the better ones are completely closed on Monday and Tuesday. We were there for Tuesday night and didn't get to eat at the restaurants we wanted.

Pros: The choices, the people.
Cons: Just give us directions to turn the heat down at night!
Location: Great for last minute Christmas shopping.
Fabulous way to celebrate a Christmas-time Anniversary

Loved m stay. Only had one issue. We requested a late check out for 1pm. But the next morning TWICE I had to answer the door to the cleaning ladies before 1. I was put off when I mentioned it to the front desk on my way out because they acted as though it wasn't their fault. Front desk said no one put it in our reservation. Certainly wasn't MY fault. U so recommend the resort. The dinning is great and the rooms are beautiful.

Staff were great! Tv didn't eprk in the room and waited 1 hour before maintenance came to fix it! But they were friendly. The was a hair in my daughters breakfast from room service so she couldn't finish it. Room was very nice and it was quiet.

Pros: Excellent--rooms were beautiful and clean. The whole setting was relaxing--beautiful native Indian decor.
Cons: Can anything more be done about the smoke in the casino? The further in one went, the worse it got.
Location: The resort was close by to shopping areas--good feature! and just off the I-5.
Very nice two-day stay--midweek. Excellent --service, food, etc. Food was especially good at the Journeys. The only thing we didn't like was the intensity of the smoke in the casino, which limited our stay in that particular area.

Very Disappointed This Time

Posted Nov 6, 2014
Pros: This time - nothing
Cons: Food, service, hours of the lounge, room rates and make the casino non smoking
Last time we were here we enjoyed our stay but not this time. Last time we were given a couple of coupons to taste wine in the lounge by the front desk but were told this time the hotel decided not to offer the promotion. No problem, we went to the lounge to buy a drink but found out is was closed on both days of our stay (every Monday and Tuesday - strange for a 24 hour casino). Had dinner in the nearby Cedars cafe and the Rib Eye was thin, overcooked and tough. Had breakfast and paid $7.50 for two eggs hash browns and toast. Hash browns were awful and they wanted $8.50 more for 4 slices of bacon! Visited the casino and the smoke was so bad we left after 5 minutes. The second day we came back to the hotel after a day of shopping and found the room had not been made up. The manager offered us a $50 meal credit on the room. We went back to the Cafe and had the prime rib which was ok and the vegetables were terrible. We asked the waitress about the food and why it was not as good as we remembered from the last time. She told us that there was a high turnover for chefs. That night all we heard was noise above us all night. No sleep. The next day on checkout we were told the wine we had with dinner did not count as part of the credit so we did not receive the full amount of the credit for dinner. For the $650 we paid for the two nights we stayed there we expected more. This hotel is overpriced for the current level of food and standard of service. We will not be back.

A get-away-from-home Halloween escape.

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: Everything. I was amazed at the quiet as I had feared with the casino it might be noisy. I also enjoyed the wonderful shower.
Cons: I don't have any suggestions.
We drove to Tulalip from Bellevue and pre-registered upon our arrival even though we had been advised check-in was not until 4 p.m. This was about 11:30 and we were looking over the lunch menu at the closest restaurant when the person who had been pre-registering us came over and said some rooms were ready and she could go ahead and check us in. That was such an incredible courtesy and set the stage for our enjoyment of the hotel.

Pros: The shower hands down. The only way it could have been better if it had a steam feature.
Cons: Maybe a little too much furniture. The chaise lounge in the rooms made it appear too crowded.
Location: There is a nice up scale outlet mall nearby. If you're into outdoorsy stuff there is a huge (over 100K sq ft) store (Cabaleros?) in the opp direction
The room was great, especially the shower. Breakfast i the restaurant was so so. The Vanilla Latte appeared to come from a machine. My friend had the ham which was good but probably more than she would have liked. I'm not a gambler so I don't have anything to say about the casino.
