Not what we expectedPosted Aug 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Could not checkin until staff arrived on-site. Initally check-in clerk couldnt find our booking - was allocated the wrong room - eventually clerk came up and moved us into the type of room we had booked. The room was on the 2nd floor with no lift - so we had to carry our luggage up a steep set of stairs. The room itself was clean and the beds were comfortable, however, the porch and balcony were too hot to access. The a/c was old and VERY noisy, there was no coffee maker and the towels were worn. The whole reason for booking this hotel was the waterside pool, which was CLOSED and paddlocked up! I would only recommend this hotel as a last resort, Im sure there are better establishments in the town. When I checked out the lady barely gave me eye contact, we were happy to see the back of this hotel!

good for a one night stayPosted Jul 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
We booked the hotel as a sleeping place to be close to our sea kayak adventure the next day. It was fine for that. It was clean although the little room with the refrigerator had an odor. This is a basic no frills place but is certainly adequate. The pool was quite big for a motel pool and looked great -we didn't have time to try it. The staff was very nice in allowing an extension of our check out because our sea kayak adventure went longer than planned. I would stay here again for a one nighter.

Captain's Table Lodge and VillaPosted May 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
When I travel I generally look for three things in a hotel: a clean room, comfortable bed, and a free breakfast. Two out of three, in this case, ain't bad. Breakfast consists of coffee and non-dairy creamer, but the charm of this older hotel more than made up for it. Now, granted there is a distinct lack of amenities - no shampoo or lotion provided so make sure you bring your own. But the rooms are charming and cozy and very clean - each with it's own screened in porch or balcony that lets you enjoy the outdoors without the flies and mosquitoes getting in. Smokers note - the hotel is completely non-smoking as far as the rooms go, but smoking is allowed on the patios or porches - I guess non-smokers should take note of that as well. We stayed only one night on our way from the Everglades to Tampa. Our next trip to Florida we will definitely plan on staying here again.

Decent hotel at convenient location for Everglade.Posted May 8, 2013
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Better AC
Location: Great for exploring the Everglades by kayak or airboat.
We enjoyed staying in this small town very convenient for exploring the Everglades. Room was adequate and clean but the AC was old and noisy. Hotel could use some remodeling. For the price this hotel was OK. Convenient location for restaurants.

Very poor servicePosted Apr 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel was poorly run. When we arrived there was no toilet paper in the bathroom or towels in the bathroom. We stayed for 4 nights with no maid service of any kind (even replacing toilet paper), Room smelled of mildew and hallway was not clean. Front desk attendant was not very friendly and didn't help us with any information we requested. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It needs some changes.

Nice Place.Posted Mar 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
I have been to Everglades City many times and have stayed in almost every motel there. I was just there for one night, so I didn't need a fancy place. Captain's Table is a bare bones, no frills kinda place. But for the money it's excellent! Right next door to the Seafood Depot and within walking distance of things you want to see while your in Everglades City. My room had a screened in porch and an outside porch beyond that! I just wish they had a coffee maker in the room. But they have coffee in the lobby.
