Rudest Staff I ever encountered

Posted Oct 10, 2014
Pros: Location is short distance from the Keys
Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE. VERY UNFRIENDLY STAFF.
Location: Looks to be a fair to moderate crime area. I would not leave anything in the car.
Needed a room nearby the Key Largo for business, and an acceptable drive to the Miami Airport. We were not looking for anything special nor expected anything for the price, just a place to sleep. What we do expect is not to be hostile and threatened during our stay. Arrived real late at night with no problem, checked in no problem, told the attendant that we wanted to stay an extra day, because I was out for the morning and coming back in the afternoon... still no problem, and was told to pay the next day. Check out was 10:30 am, my wife was called at 8:30 and woke up to tell her to check out by 10:30. She told them we were extending one more day. At 10:30 the attendant was kicking on the door and getting hostile with her. He had my card on file, he had my number to contact me. There is no reason or excuse to harass and threaten someone in the room after being told the stay was being extended and all payment information was on file. He disappeared when I went to return the key, and a woman took the key at checkout.

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Location was ok
Cons: Rooms are outdated
Location: Visited Florida Keys, Key Biscayne Park and Miami Beach from this location.

Near Coral Castle

Posted Apr 20, 2014
Location: The Coral Castle is just down the street, we loved it!
We had reserved our room ahead of time and didn't get there until about 9:00 pm. The air conditioner was not turned on, the refrigerator was not plugged in and running. That was disappointing. Other than that it was a nice place for the price.

Classic 1960's Style Motel

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: Inexpensive, nice staff.
Cons: This is an older motel type that could be updated.
Location: Next to Coral Castle, near the rodeo and speedway.
This place is fine for travelers looking for an inexpensive place to stay. Free wireless no hassles and no frills. It's right next to the Coral Castle.

I stayed 3 days. It was graet for a motel. Clean, free Wifi, about 200 channels on TV. It has fridge, microwave, individual AC.

Good budget motel

Posted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: The owners live on-site and are very helpful. They add much to the quality of the place.
Location: Next door to the Coral Castle.
This is a small, budget motel, circa 1950. It has all the things you would need for a one-night sleep-over. The frig and microwave were pleasant surprises. We used it as a stopping point to and from the Keys. Everything worked out great.

One night to rest and continue to Key West

Posted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: The room was clean and the air conditioner was great.
Cons: The management (the family), they most understand and learn how to treat and deal with clients.
Location: Nothing is really special, normal neighborhood.
I booked here for one night to take a rest and continue morning to key west, I really wasn't looking for something except a good place to sleep in, so I looked up for the cheapest motel in the area, this one was for $ 50 a night while the others were between $55 and $60, so I took this one, when I have arrived they charged me with an extra $15 and told me "we didn't include the taxes on the websites", well thats a really cheap move from the management (the family), the other motels around didn't use this deceiving idea, I also travelled all around the US, no hotel or a motel has done this cheap idea before. I also did't like the fact that I have to bring back the TV remote control to the management when I checkout with the key, which is not electronic card like the other motels! why would I have to return the TV remote control? why don't the cleaning service take care of it? Also I didn't like the fact that they required my whole basic information ( home address, names, numbers) and when I asked why, they answered "if something happened, we will contact the police and give them those information!", its like they are threaten you and treating you as criminal not as a client who just want to sleep. On the other hand, the room was clean and the air conditioner was working really well. so as a result I would say the motel is very good for just sleeping, otherwise no.
