Decent hotel close to Everglades

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast area fills up when hotel is full (which it was when I stayed).
Location: Very bust block, lots of restaurants nearby. Denny's in front. Main attraction is Everglades National Park, about a 15 or 20 minute drive.
Hotel staff are extremely friendly. Let me check in early and gave a map with all the nearby restaurants, including the ones that give discounts to hotel guests. Average free breakfast, typical for chain motels. Hotel is set behind a gas station, so it is a bit difficult to find. I was helped by looking it up on Google Maps and Street View beforehand. Mini fridge and microwave in room and guests get free microwave popcorn at checkin.

Nice hotel, very good quality for the price

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was good, the room was neat. We were offered discounts for restaurants nearby
Location: Good location for the Keys and the Everglades
I found the hotel very nice and very comfortable for the family. We were very welcome and the staff (particularly Bhumi) was very nice and helpful. The hotel was well situated as we could go to the Keys, visit an alligator farm and also the Everglades Park.

safe bet

Good place to stay at reasonable costs. The hotel is clean and we'll managed. The only drawback was breakfast. Although the have a great offering, the area is too small when the hotel is full. It was jam packed from 8 to 10.

Good base for lots of reasons

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Price, breakfast, staff
We stayed here only for one night, but can recommend it as an inexpensive base for exploring the Everglades, the earlier Keys, or presumably Miami. It is close to the outlet malls and although in a rather busy area,it is set back away from the road allowing a more peaceful setup. The breakfast was included in the price and was plentiful and good to head out on. (The waffles were particularly popular with our sons. The staff were friendly and helpful. Bhuni, in particular gave us travel information as to what to look for in the keys and she was spot on. Thanks Bhuni.

Overnight at hotel

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Let's just say we were swarmed by Mosquitos when we opened our door to our hotel room. Before we could sleep we had to kill everyone of them. It looks like this has been a case for the previous guest as we saw other Mosquitos already dead in the wall. I do have to say the staff was nice and breakfast was good. We were heading to the Keys so this was good.

plus across from beach & 3 pools

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: beautiful grounds, bars near every pool, quiet.
When we arrived and realized that the room we were assigned did not have elevator access, they quickly relocated us to a downstairs room. Loved the fact that it had pools for families and those for adults. The hotel is located at the quiet end of Duval but very easy to walk restaurants etc. Would definitely stay here again.

Handy to florida city and Everglades national park

Posted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: Locality and easy access. Continental breakfast was adequate but usually had to wait on available table
Cons: Hole in bath, hair dryer wouldn't work, and gap under front door to outside that cockroaches could have entered
Location: Dolphin shopping mall, Everglades national park, Miami
On arrival safe didn't work. Contacted reception and was fixed within half an hour...excellent service and very helpful staff.

Convenient Location

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Chose model specifically as stopping point between Everglages and Keys to visit Coral Castle. Location is convenient but it is along a busy road / v built up area. We drove out to the coast for evening meal near Marina which was a nicer option than local restaurants (standard Denny's type fare). But all said very good value model - small pool enough for children to have a splash around and free breakfast (enough to fill up for the day). Room was efficient and clean although we had to wait to get in as they were repairing the air con unit.
