Nice hotel, sits right on the riverPosted Sep 5, 2014
This was a very quaint little B&B that sits right off the main road by the river. There are plenty of places to sit outdoor and enjoy the beautiful mountains around you. Breakfast was good with plenty of fresh fruit to choose from. Overall we had a wonderful visit and would go back.

Wonderful Quiet RetreatPosted May 19, 2014
My husband and I stayed at the Inn while going house-hunting in Denver, Colorado, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the phenomenal service, fabulous location, and warmth at Highland Haven. We wanted a little romantic place not in the center of the bustling city (having come all the way from New York City) and were situated very comfortably in a quiet ground floor cabin room, with a gentle creek bubbling barely 50 feet away. The room itself was VERY clean, well appointed, and the perfect size for a two-night stay. Quite aside from the accommodations, the staff, and their resident dog-mascot Rowley included, were so kind! Every morning they set out a delicious homemade breakfast in a cozy off-shoot of the main office, which I believe was actually someone's home about 100 years ago. It certainly felt like we were staying in someone's home, too-- the whole property seems designed around that Colorado hospitality that we love so much. A really, really wonderful stay-- highly recommended from people who travel the world and stay in great hotels often--and a very picky wife to boot :)

The folks at Highland Haven couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. The room was very comfortable with a perfect small kitchen. Everything was great. Its a 10 in our book!

Don't miss this one!Posted Apr 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
A Colorado classic. We arrived to find the Haven staff have given us a complimentary upgrade. The room was perfect with a comfy king bed and two comfortable easy chairs. Great location on Bear Creek, extremely well maintained property with many touches of mountain folk art. Excellent hideaway for quiet and romance. Staff were very friendly and accommodating including adjusting the breakfast menu for my vegetarian wife and brushing 7 inches of fresh snow from our car the morning we had to leave. We will be back!

We loved the Highland Haven! It was wonderful! I recommend the Gardener's Cottage because it was close to the breakfast room and coffee plus besides the Treehouse, (which is very cool), it's the only stand alone cottage. The breakfast was fantastic. I have never looked forward to eating breakfast like this before! So many small touches it's really hard to report, you just have to experience it. Bed was fabulous, atmosphere was fabulous, Roxy and all the staff were fantastic!
