“Not quite as expected”
This pousada is rated as one of the 1000 places to see before you die, according to the book. It's not quite up to that, but it deserves more than its two star rating on Expedia also. The building itself in all its public areas is charming, charming, charming. There's a nice pool. The bedrooms are nothing like what's depicted. On the up side, they are converted convent cells, and there's a kick to be had out of that. On the down side, they are small and smell of mildew, painted lime green and decorated with white wooden furniture.
