“Circlej”

We had a girls weekend at the Spa and it was wonderful. The beds are really hard but rooms very clean. Can't wait to go back after renovation.

“Not for picky people who expect everything to be modern and up-to-date”

Very pleasant staff that responded quickly to my needs. Was upgraded to a suite upon arrival. It is a very historic hotel (as told to me later by my sister). It was dissapointing that the hotel did not provide any information about the hotel history upon checkin (many presidents stayed there & Al Capone). Only one teeney elevator. It has the feel of the 1940's. Interesting place to explore & best suited for physically active people who like to move. A lot of land to explore behind the hotel and they rent bikes. They also have walking paths. This is a very old hotel with a very old feel. If you are not into historical older places, this might now be for you.

Area recommendations

Kansas City, Mo has a nice disk golf course. It is very hilly. Locals said not to be there after dark. It is very safe before dark. Not impressed by Worlds of Fun there but the water opark is great.

“Amazing from the outside but a bit run down inside”

This is a beautiful hotel until you open the door to your room. The room reminded me of a motel that you would pay $39.95/night.

“Love to go back over and over”

We have enjoyed going to this beautiful hotel for many years and always are so happy it continues to stay available for people to enjoy it's eligance and beautiful grounds. It definately a relaxing atmosphere with everything a person would want for a get away. The town offers points of interest, other shopping and resturants. Even tho, the hotel resturant is wonderful and we enjoy it very much. We appreciate the courtesy and guest complimentary welcome gift given by the staff. Keep up the good work and we'll be back soon!

“OK hotel ?really poor internet access”

If you go to this hotel to relax and not do business (like use the internet) then this is a good hotel. If you need to use the internet in your room on the third floor hang it up and go sit in the lobby. That's the only place to get the internet and only on certain times of the day. Nice pool and good price on the room rates

“Great get away!”

“wonderful place to visit”

Loved it. The hotel is great and a great value. The pools are really cool, outdoor hot tub was great. There is a BBQ place within walking distance that is killer. Only stayed one night, but I'd love to go back.

“charming but....”

A charming old hotel, nice pool area, inviting bar/lounge (both of them), comfortable room. Bar/lounge area was empty but not very clean. Resturant was below par...and a buffet? why? Evening upstairs bar was inviting but mostly a big crowd of locals and didn't feel very welcome. Will return and hope for better next time.
