“Location is not bad”

Super 8 is an okay place when you are trying to save money. It was clean and the service was good with a friendly staff. If you are looking for 5 Star accomodation this is not for you; but it won't break your bank.

Area recommendations
I lived in Fairbanks for 30 years and there to visit family. If travelers want to save money the Super 8 is just fine. I would not recommend a location in the center of town, specially for tourists, the top places are on the river.
When to go
The last part of May and into August is excellent. You will be surprised by the 24 hour daylight.
Must see
The Pioneer Park located between town and the airport is a must. Plan to spend the entire day and be sure to see the Pioneer Air Museum.
Dining
I always enjoy Pike's Landing for dinner and the Pump House. These are special. All the others are just like you find in your hometown.
Outdoors or beach
Take a "Flight Seening Tour." That is only way you will see the Alaska as Alaskans see Alaska. Alaska has the highest per-capita of pilots anywhere in the world. See what they see in the comfort of tour plane. Go to Bettles, Nome, Barrow, and Mt. Denali. You will have memories to last a lifetime.

“Fairbanks' Central Hub”

Fairbanks Super 8 Motel is about as convenient as you can get. The location is right off the Airport Road and it's centered on all that is Fairbanks. It's a 5 minute walk to the Sports Arena and right next to the movie theater. Ultimately, it's a great place to go if you want to spend a lot of time away from the motel room and use the motel as a place to lay your head. They do have a pretty nice continental breakfast and they have an attendant in there to assist at all times. I didn't feel like I was 'slumming' it when I stayed here. I felt welcomed and at ease.

Area recommendations
You should really check out Chena Hot Springs! It's a 50 mile drive but it's pretty phenomenal in the winter and great in the summer months!

“Super 8 Motel Smells”

you can tell the new towels from the old, because the used ones are grey mixed with new white ones. the carpet looks used and abused, had my whole family use slippers. urine smelling room that we could not stand. i highly not recommened.

I really like extended stay, convienent and clean, for a good price range
