Nice hotel, some staff issues

Posted May 23, 2014
Excellent rooms. Saves money on food costs with a kitchenette that includes dishes. Cleaning staff cleans once a week and is supposed to bring fresh towels and take out the trash daily but I ran into a couple issues with them not coming. Cleared that up by talking to the front desk twice about it. Recommendation; either buy paper towels or if you use the towel for a colored spill, clean it yourself. Cleaned up tea and they charged me $15 for the towel due to "hair dye". Cleaned up a tea spot again and washed it myself, washed right out. I would recommend this place though. It's affordable, comfortable, and has the stocked kitchenette. Can't go wrong.

Stayed here for AWG 2014 - great place!

Posted Mar 29, 2014
Pros: Comfortable, quiet, well equipped suite.
Cons: Was surprised that we were on the third floor and there was no elevator! Would not have so quickly declined the driver's help to take our bags up.
Location: We didn't have a vehicle rented so we really appreciated the bus stops (Red Line and Blue Line) within a short walking distance from the Wedgewood.
Loved the large suite - had everything we needed for our week in Fairbanks. Really appreciated the newspaper under the door each morning.

Huge Rooms

Posted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: Each room is a converted apartment so we had 2 bedrooms, a living room and a full kitchen for the same price as a single hotel room.
Location: Close to all locations in Fairbanks. Adjacent to a park and wildlife refuge. Near Walmart and other major shopping centers

Loved this Hotel

Posted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: Clean Rooms!!!
Cons: Since it is in Alaska and most of the flights depart only at night maybe an special extended service and rate to accomodate late departures.
Location: Lots to do!!! Car museum is nice and the shuttle will take you to key locations.
Clean. Rooms are large. Bathroom was great. We had to check out at 11:00 a.m. and our flight wasn't until 11:00 p.m. The hotel staff was very curteous in allowing us to hang out in the lobby after we were finished touring the nearby museums, etc. The shuttle service was great both the airport shuttle and the around town shuttle - fabulous! We were very pleased with this location.

Great for family and very comfortable!

Pros: Big screen TV in living room, formal dining room if you had friends visit. Kitchen well equiped! And clean!
Cons: Off season so unable to fully enjoy.
Location: Nice location, safe area.
Unfortunately, some things are closed in the winter like the Auto show only open on Sundays and we missed it. One of the big reasons for booking there, to walk around to the the places on site. No restaurant on premises, but 2 blocks to the best Italian Restaurant we have been in for many years, and I know Italian. The staff were wonderful and friendly, and the accomodations were much more than expected. Almost hate to let people in on this little secret!
