High Quality hotel, great service

It was off season, so a little quiet but the staff were very friendly and the restaurant food was impressive. Would like to go back in summer.

Great place

The only bad thing is the residential area around. No shops or restaurants around so you eat in the pricey hotel place, excellent food, or you take a cab to town.

Falkenberg Strandbad

Still undergoing some renovation but a good place for families with a pool table in the lobby and mini golf nearby. The place is huge but seemed largely empty. The staff are very friendly and accommodating but it had a somewhat deserted feel to it which we couldn't attribute entirely to the rainy weather since it's August and we expected it to be more lively, especially when the sun did come out. Access to the beach through the hotel is difficult to find. You either have to walk through the restaurant which involves zigzagging past tables and then back through an outside deck, or find the side door at the other end of the hotel. There are large french doors in the lobby that seem as if they might open up to the front porch/deck facing the beach, but they don't have windows and were closed the entire time. Again, it might have been the weather but it was breezy and nice at times and you get no feel for the hotel being on the beach unless your room faces it (ours did but our kids were in a room at the back with no view) or you find your way to the porch. The beach is nice with several small cafes and ice cream shops within walking distance. The upstairs restaurant served a lovely buffet dinner and the atmosphere was decent, but again they could have opened a few windows to the outside so you could hear the waves.
