Would I stay here again? Hell Yes!

Posted Mar 22, 2015
So lets get some facts right out there.I rated the hotel as a 5 but this does not mean this is a 5 star hotel! What you get is a hotel right in a great location. You literally open your door and take 10 steps to your beach! For what you pay - how can you beat this? Your own private beach.. ..also did I say the room has a kitchen? Free Wifi! When you checkin you get rum punch (which got me buzzed)! The Italian restaurant next door is great - try the gnocci! Also the supermarket is a quick walk. .

Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly and the whole place was beautifully and spotlessly clean. Even the beach was raked every morning.
Cons: The room had a kitchenette but some additional crockery and cooking items would help.
Location: Lots of boating activities and beach exploring.
Idyllic position right on the beach. The holiday was perfectly chilled, with the nightlife of Falmouth and English harbour a short taxi ride down the road.

Might have been nice...couldn't check in

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Reception picking up the phone, or responding to multiple answermachine messages
Location: No idea
I booked to stay here for one night on stopover from the BVIs to London. My flight was delayed and since reception closed at 11, I decided to call them at 7.30 to let them know so I would be able to check in. As a solo young female traveller, I really didn't want to get to a rather remote hotel to find it shut up for the night. Alas, despite calling and leaving numerous messages and the fact that it was still early evening, I couldn't get through to one person. Nor have I heard from the hotel at all. I ended up booking another hotel just so I could be sure of accomodation that night. Given that LIAT are consistently delayed, this is a very poor effort. I'd avoid this one if you are arriving on any flight due after 6 pm. Shocking.

Ideal island getaway

Posted Jan 30, 2015
Pros: Expedia
Cons: ?
Location: On the beach , Taxis and tour companies are available
With rising hills to the west, yachts to the east and the south Atlantic straight ahead,it doesn't come any better than the Catamaran Hotel. Located on Falmouth Bay in the southern part of Antigua is ideal for an island getaway. Our room was just steps away from the waters edge. The gentle sound of waves lapping the beach lulled us to sleep. the rooms were clean and well maintained although the building is old we found it very comfortable. There are two restaurants on the property 1. Italian food and the 2 Island favorites both are reasonably priced by island standards.A grocery store only a 5 minute walk away is a major plus. The staff was exceptional . We highly recommend the Catamaran Hotel

Catamaran Hotel relaxation

Posted Jan 21, 2015 on Hotels.com
Hotel is attractively located on small private beach adjacent to large sailing yacht marina and overlooking the main channel entrance into Falmouth where very large private cruisers dock. Rooms have excellent beachfront & sea channel views. External room terraces & balconies are well furnished and from ground floor rooms you can step straight onto the beach (& sun loungers). Rooms very clean, spacious & extensively fitted including power shower. Floor tiles and bathroom fittings would however benefit aesthetically from a refurb as they are a little dated. From room balconies/terraces and restaurant (good views) it is pleasantly relaxing listening to the gently breaking waves. Very short taxi ride into Falmouth or English Harbour.

Nice hotel. Most rooms only 10 steps to beach.

Posted Jan 21, 2015
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We used their recommended reliable taxi service to get to other beaches and restaurants throughout our stay. If you are looking to save some money on meals, each room has a fully equipped efficiency kitchen. This is a small intimate hotel. Not a mega resort. If you are seeking an intimate feel, great location and peaceful atmosphere I would recommend this hotel.

Great Potential But A Bit Disappointing

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Beachfront, small, personal, friendly, clean.
Cons: Linens, towels, toiletries, plumbing, restaurant ambiance.
Location: Pigeon Beach beachfront restaurant/bar Catherine's Cafe. Also ate at Admirals's Inn and Trappas. Rumbaba also supposed to be great but fully booked
I had my eye on this place for a few years because it is small and right on the water. I was disappointed that it was more run down than I expected. Some small improvements could make a big difference. Plumbing is problematic and upkeep of deck chairs, doors and windows etc. is poor. Bedding and towels could use an upgrade and it would be nice to have better shampoo etc. and daily water bottles. But the setting is idyllic, the place is very clean, and the staff were great. AC machine was top of the line, silent - very unusual. The restaurant food is not bad, though surprisingly pricey for breakfast, but there's no evening ambiance. Could be easily fixed with simple things like candles rather than bright lights... I think I would come back here again if I had the opportunity but I'd be excited to see these improvements and would be more than happy to pay a bit more for them. Thanks Catamaran...hoping you can keep improving!

Charming hotel

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: we really enjoyed the small size of this hotel and the intimate feel to it. It felt more of a genuine local island hotel than the big internationals
Cons: Bathrooms could be improved as slightly dated in decor, but working well.
Location: there is a restaurant next door and another on the adjoining marina, a supermarket and another bar about 5 mins walk
This is a charming family run hotel that fronts onto the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It has the feel of being away from it all. There is an adjoining restaurant overlooking the sea that serves good food and daily specials. It is a 5 min drive from English Harbour which has shopping, bars and restaurants.
