Only one night is OK

Posted Aug 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
If you only need a place to sleep, it is OK. There is minimal walk space. It was nice to have a dorm fridge and microwave.

A Suprisingly Economical Experience

Posted Jun 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Economy Inn. Its name bespeaks efficiency and value, and I was delighted to discover the lengths to which the Economy Inn went in the name of economy. Some of the things they do to save their customers money are simple but effective. For example, this hotel features the smallest bars of soap I’ve ever seen. And while I expected the iron to have been excluded in the name of efficiency, I had not predicted some of the other ingenious cost-saving measures employed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they’d economized on hangers, offering exactly two (one broken, undoubtedly bought used to save me yet more money). Another amenity that the Economy Inn provides value with is sheets—rather than wastefully throwing them out, this hotel continues to provide the same sheets to guests even after they develop holes. Nor is this commitment to efficiency only financial. Many hotels have signs urging customers to save water, but the Economy Inn leads by example; they installed their shower fixture in such a way that no water flows to the showerhead, saving countless gallons. This proves doubly effective due to the lack of any plug for the bathtub. Having no icemaker available in the motel complex compounded this aqueous economy. I was stunned and delighted by the lengths the Economy Inn took in order to ensure the most economical hotel experience I have ever enjoyed. I can’t imagine why anyone would pay the three or four dollar premium to stay at other hotels in the area instead.
