"Estoi Palace Hotel"
We went for a short break to Portugal just to get a few days of sunshine before the winter. The hotel was a great location just 10km or so from Faro airport so it's away from the touristy areas and the seaside resorts was perfect for us

"Beautiful views. Excellent location"
Paid for a room with a view and had room with balcony on 5th floor. Lovely watching the birds over the nature reserve. Yes there were party goers outside on Friday and Saturday night but either stay up late or take earplugs. We don't drive abroad and the location is fantastic for the buses, trains, ferry to islha deserta, boat trip around nature reserve and bike hire. The gym is also excellent. No complaints about the food - good breakfast and had cataplana 'meal deal' one evening which was excellent.

Pocket Guide: Faro, Algarve Business Hotels

This bustling characterful little town, gateway to the region, is overlooked by most Algarve visitors. Its elegant cobbled, peaceful Old Town is a delight for strolling. The Cathedral is its highlight; climb to the top for wonderful views across Faro’s lagoon. The newer, late 19th-century part of town is a likeable jumble of shopping streets, local bars and restaurants, a regional museum and the Carmo Church with a ghoulish bone chapel.
