Older But Nice Place to Stay

Posted Aug 20, 2014
The motel is located in the heart of Fernie close to a number of restaurants and not far from the golf course. Everything worked fine in the room, and for the price, was a decent place for a one or two day visit.

Nice hotel in the Canadian Rockies.

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: Great help and suggestions from the lady at the from desk. Good stopping place for our first night out.
Cons: Stairs - I found them a bit scary.
The lady at the front desk was very helpful. This place was a bit old and the stairs up to the rooms were steep and and could use a bit of updating. Hotel was quiet and a good place to stop on our first night.

Needed a good cleaning

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Quiet, floor plan, had the amenities we needed at a decent price, and non-smoking.
Location: Walking distance to restaurants. Close to the highway.
This was the last room available on the web at 3 AM on the day we would check in, that was not $2-300 a night. There were no openings the following night, but when we arrived, and asked, the host allowed us to stay there for 2 nights. Genuine cabin feel. Coffee pot and fridge worked, were clean. Floors were not, and dust on everything. Grease spatter on the oven door handle, gobs of gray-black dust in the corners of the bathroom floor. Staff terrific on everything else but the housekeeping. Not modern enough for everyone, but fit the location. Wood structure. No smoke alarms. Exposed wiring in the main building, and in our unit, that might not be up to code most places.

Room with kitchenette

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Overall entire building is old but defiantly room with kitchenette conditions “must” be improved
Location: Down town, waterpark, Elk river are not far, close to Tim Horton and other shops.
We booked three rooms all together, one room with kitchenette. Room with kitchenette stinks, as per receptionist all room with kitchenette smell same. We had to use our own room air freshener before we can sit in room. Other two rooms were alright. Terrible experience having room with kitchenette will never stay in same room again in our life.

Fernie

Good room, cheap, nothing special, nothing wrong. Hot tub was a little weak. You cannot beat the location though.
