Great base to tour from

Pros: It's character
Cons: Some times other guest could be noisy with their doors or wooden window shades
Location: Perfect for a short walk to the centre
Real handy for the beautiful centre of Ferrara. You have to work put where to park once you get there, and they have secure underground parking around the corner. Watch out from the cyclists as they ignore the one way system. Beautiful historical unspoilt walled city

Wonderful!

Hotel location is very close to central part of the city, just 3 min by walk. The furniture in room looks old-fationed which supports nicely the mood of the city. Our room #202 had 3 floors!, which was quite exciting for our child as for her it looked like a house. Room was very comfortable and all the time clean. Breakfast was very good with big choice of snacks, sweets, juices etc. Coffe machine was just perfect. There is 1 restaurant just in front of the hotel door and nice pizzeria in the next building where it is good to go with kids. So, if you are tired and do not want to go far from hotel these places are very recommended. The only minus is - no wifi in room. We did not take notebook, so could not use cable internet in the room. WiFi in the lobby was very strong. I would appreciate such wifi in the room as well. If one day I go to Ferrara again, I will definately choose this hotel.

Great retreat

Pros: the location & ambience
Location: very central
Is very near the Centro Storico, a 5 min walk to St. George's Cathedral and Estense Tower. Set in a rather tranquil environment. A 25 - 30 min walk to the train station. Good breakfast. Clean room. Confortable bed. All in a rustic/old environment.

Long walk to train station. Adequate breakfast. Staff helpful but not overly friendly.

It was a very comfortable hotel with a very nice breakfast included. We were very pleased with the area, we walked all around and felt very safe. Plenty of shopping and sights to see.

Uncomfortable Hotel
Posted Jan 30, 2008 on Hotels.com
This hotel might be comfortable and attractive in mid-summer when breakfast is served on the central patio and guests can take advantage of the patios off the upper rooms. But I wouldn't bet on it. If you are travelling from November on, I recommend asking reception at check-in for four extra blankets and a space heater. As the rooms are gloomy, poorly lit, and the electricity erratic, flashlights would also come in handy. Finally, I recommend a down coat and fur lined gloves for the small and definitely spartan breakfast room or, if you prefer caffe latte that is hot, rather than lukewarm and obviously reheated, seek out a local cafe.
