We had a fabulous time. It is a perfect place for a family with young children - my one year old had such a great time dipping his toes in the beautiful pool, watching farm animals (he was too scared to go near but was happy to watch them from distance) and just walking around the premise. The food at their restaurant was nice, especially pizzas they do in evenings (I wish they do them for lunch time too). It is a home away from home and a perfect place for peaceful and relaxing holiday.
We stayed in Casa dell'uva near the reception. Only small dissapointment was it did not have a bath tub. We will definitely go back and next time we will try a cottage in the Borgo. We did not hire a car this time but it was ok. It was so nice that we ended up staying at the farm almost all our stay (But if you are staying in the Borgo, you need a car as it is on top of the hill and a bit far from the restaurant and the reception where they sell bread and cheese).

There were two of us traveling together and decided to stay in one room, the only option online through Expedia was a single bed room so we booked that and hoped for the best. When we arrived to Bonsai (arrived two hours before check-in), we were welcomed by Christian, a hotel staff member and offered a breakfast free of charge. After eating, our room was not ready for check-in so we waited patiently. Once the room was ready we were allowed to choose to stay in the room that we originally booked or accept a free upgrade of a family room which held four people, we gladly accepted the upgrade. The room was a typical hotel room, comfy with a tv, couldn't really ask for anything more especially for the low price of the booking! The staff (I'm assuming all family members) were extremely nice and truly cared for the guests on their property. Our first day there, Christian called the shuttle service to have us taken to the beach which was 10km away, once the shuttle arrived, the hotel had given us a gift basket full of fresh fruit for us to enjoy at the beach. This gesture was a rather wonderful surprise since we had no snacks or food for the beach prepared. If you do not have a car, it IS OKAY! We did not have car but managed to survive. The shuttle service that the hotel recommends is excellent and has cheap rates. We spent only double digits for shuttle service for three days vs. triple digits for a car rental. We also rented bicycles which can be delivered to the hotel.

Loved this place, wish we could have stayed longer. It was quite difficult to find, we asked at another hotel out in the country if they could direct us, the receptionist was annoyed because other people turned up there asking for directions, she asked us to 'inform' the hotel we were supposed to be at to improve their signage. However, we eventually arrived, were very pleased with it, ideal stay for an early flight from airport about 20 minutes max drive. On arrivalI explained to Stephanie, the lady who checked us in (she could have been
the owner, but her English wasn't great and my Italian is worse) that we had an early flight and she gave us our breakfast the evening before so we didn't go hungry.
When trying to find your way, if you get to a Brick yard on the left hand side of the road, you have gone too far the turning to the hotel is just before.

Firstly, the cleaners were non existent, they never came to clean the apartment, let alone put out the bin. It was written in the emai that they sent to me, that the cleaners would come to change the bed sheets ad towels mid week, but that never happened. You are meant to have a holiday but instead you have to clean everything!
Basic kitchen utensils(pans, knives etc) were awful, the knives were bendy, pots would not even cook things properly and therefore the pans were burnt.
There was no oven, kettle, iron and microwave. When someone would have a five minute shower, there is no hot water available for the next person, otherwise you'd have to wait at least 40 minutes.
Beds were saggy, you'd sit on them and you could feel yourself sinking into it.
On a more positive note the area around the apartment was ok.

This is a really lovely place and the couple who own it, Pascalino and his wife are extremely kind, helpful and welcoming. When I emailed Pascalino about my arrival time into Alghero airport, he said they had to go to the airport to drop off a family member at that time and so offered us a free ride to their place. The drive to Aloe Bnb was only about 10 minutes. The Bnb is on a main road, opposite a hospital so very easy to find if you go out for a wonder on your own. We only stayed one night as we were traveling to a different part of the Island the next day. Pascalino is really lovely and speaks good English and went out of his way to help us to find train times and bus routes when we mentioned we were going to travel to San Teodoro. The BnB itself is very nice. There are a couple of seperate rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and your own locked entrance. Our room had two single beds and a balcony. The beds were basic, quite short (my tall friend just fit in!) and thin but fine. The room was clean and quiet. The bathroom was nice and clean and had an amazing power shower complete with a sound system! Outside your locked quarter, there's a communal kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is stocked with tea, coffee, milk and other snacks. In the morning, Pascalino prepared breakfast and this was my best breakfast in Sardinia! There were eggs, croissants, fruit, yogurt, cheeses, meats, tea, coffee, juices... a seriously great breakfast!!! ALL in all, we loved staying here.
