Arriving at Jardin des Biehn is like waking up and finding yourself in a garden of delights. Out of the concrete and walled Medina, one walks into a peaceful green scenery and a rambling riad, with a room here and there, each one totally private. Our room, with a large second floor balcony overlooking the garden, was filled with gorgeous design details right out of the Moroccan bible of interior design. Their funky and colourful Fes Cafe, spilling out into the garden, offered us one of the best meals we had on our trip. The breakfasts were wonderful - fresh breads, wonderful coffee, all presented in charming chinaware setting by a lovely quiet Moroccan lady. Frankly, I could have sat all day enjoying the view from the rocking chair on that second hand balcony... And did I mention the early morning yoga class for friends that the owner Catherine invited me to? For this riad, a 5 star rating is just not high enough.

After a long day of travel by train and tax from Casablanca we were warmly greeted with Moroccan tea and our currency was able to be exchanged immediately. The hotel is beyond imagination beautiful nestled in a picturesque mountain town. The "hammam" (or Turkish bath a some refer to it) spa treatment is a must if you stay here. The hamamm is an out of this world experience in the most tranquil of settings possible which will leave you relaxed to your core. Food in both the main dining room and breakfast were superb. The grounds contain crops that are used at the hotel. The extra touches by the staff make the hotel experience a 5 star rating. Every day upon arrival at the hotel in our room a staff person arrives with a bottle of water and two chocolates in a bowl. Every evening they bring more bottled water, deserts and put our your slippers.

We were thrilled with our decision to stay here and even ended up spending an extra night. It's a quick and easy walk to the Medina - by Bab (door) Ziat.
The dinner restaurant is spectacular in regard to the food and views. The bar also has a wonderful view and a great place to go for a drink.
The rooms were spacious and decadent in our opinion.
The SPA was a true treat and I'd highly recommend doing a tleast one hamam if not two!

Probably the most amazing riad I stayed at during my 10 days travelling through Morocco! The staff were incredibly helpful and so very amazing. The food was pricey - but well worth it. Positively delicious. My room and the riad itself are simply stunning - very Arabian Nights :-) If you stay, ask for them to organise a tour guide by the name of Majid Alaoui for you to ensure you get the BEST experience. He will take you wherever you want to go (for a price obviously) - but he is incredibly knowledgable and experienced, and speaks fluent English, French, Spanish and of course Arabic. He is worth EVERY cent to ensure you get the most authentic and comprehensive tour of Fez and Morocco.

We did really well with this booking. Beautiful, clean and great location. One of the main requirements was for a swimming pool and although when we arrived it looked a lot smaller than the photos it served its purpose. The Riad is about a 5 min walk from the souk and place r'cif and just 10-15 dirhams for a taxi to the 'new city'. Some of the staff were excellent but could have been more helpful with suggesting on places to see and recommending tours. Generally booking through the hotel is more expensive but we didn't find the usual tour touts so we had to go through the hotel.
We also got told at check-out that we needed to pay a city tax that was not mentioned on the booking nor when we arrived so add around 3 euros per person per night to your budget.

Fairly new hotel with the lot. Great fit out and spacious rooms. Staff are incredibly helpful. A good retreat away from the hustle. Shopping centre next door also gives diff perspective of Morocco. Must do the hammam!! Note regular taxis will only drop at the gate.
