The best Best WesternPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: Very clean and comfortable. Staff helped us with our bags coming and going. Restaurant and pool definitely 5 star quality.
Location: We saw the palace and abbey. I'm sure there are other things. We only had a day.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover how nice this hotel was. Definitely nicer than some we have stayed in the US. A fantastic restaurant and superb pool. Very satisfied.

Excellent HotelPosted Aug 27, 2013
Cons: Air conditioning
We stayed at this hotel for a wedding function. The staff were all excellent without exception from the girl who cleaned the room through the receptionist, Bar manager, event manager and waitresses. The food was excellent. The beef we had at the wedding feast was outstanding. My only negative comment if any was the hotel lacked air conditioning.

Pros: enjoyable function
Cons: being kept awake and poor service
Location: sits in own extensive grounds
A lot of chatter outside at about 1.30 am - we think staff. Breakfast staff need more training on clearing away dirty plates from tables and serving tea/coffee. We ended up leaving dining area and making a coffee in our room as we had waited so long.

A 10 out of 10 experiencePosted Mar 30, 2013
Pros: Breakfast and staff
Location: Nice surroundings
We stayed over after my sister's wedding reception in the hotel. Our family room was very spacious and had 5 beds which is very unusual. Breakfast was excellent and served in a lovely conservatory. The staff were friendly and approachable, willing to help in any way. They even found me a set of jump leads to jump start my car in the morning! The pool was lovely and warm and the staff there went out of there way to show us where to go and what to do as we were had not been before. This was a 10 out of 10 experience in my opinion.

Tired, tried to charge for a meal I didnt have. The shower just about let a drop of water out. Better off staing in Edinburgh.
