Golfers heavenPosted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: Dessert at the Road Hole and a mid-morning snack in the small library room off the main hotel lobby. The staff were all lovely. To die-for views.
Location: For Texans a drink or pub food at Dunvegan's is a must. The bar is owned by an Aggie--hence the Texas reference. Make time for the coastal drive.
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying here for one night. Wish it had been more. Obviously off season as the hotel was quiet but we enjoyed that even more. The staff was warm and hospitable and the view from the room a golfer's dream come true. Definitely ask for a view over the fairway and the sea. Just gorgeous. The hotel, playing the Old Course and strolling through this very historic golfer's paradise was idyllic. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful views- but just misses the mark on serviPosted Oct 26, 2013
Beautiful location. Very welcoming and reception and concierge staff were excellent. Breakfast was far too busy. ... waiting for table, waiting for coffee. ... gave up waiting for toast - very ordinary and not the experience we expected. Understaffed and disorganised. We opted for room service dinner which was superb and excellent value. Room was very comfortable and spacious with wonderful views. The Jigger Inn which is part of the resort is well worth a visit.

Iconic HotelPosted Oct 22, 2013
Special hotel. Staff friendly and polite. Luxury without being showy. Views over the actual Old Course, the St Andrews links and West Sands are amazing. The spa is excellent but its a quiet drink in the Jigger Inn before dinner that makes this a special place. Want to give a person a really special time - break the bank and come here.

One night onlyPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: Comfortable, great buffet.
Location: One of our party golfed while the rest walked through St. Andrews, sightseeing.
Staff was some of the best I have ever dealt with. Very professional and helpful. I think they try to memorize everyone's name.

Pros: Ultra luxury.
Location: The Old Course ...
Spectacular. The only way it would have been better is if my handicap were better & I could have played the course. It was still a golfer's dream to walk the grounds.

i'm really happy they upgraded us which not sure why they did but we had a fantastic view of 17th hole which made the day. otherwise i would likely just say ok. it was quite expensive and you pay for the location. room was nice. they didn't tell us that restaurant booked up on checkin so we had to go into town for dinner which was disappointing especially when you enter an empty restaurant and they say they are booked solid.
