Beautiful resort lovely place to unwindPosted Oct 29, 2014
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Not to many people and met some lovely families during our stay which made our time at Sonaisali even more special.
Cons: The meals and lack of restaurants. The fine dinning restaurant was closed and the other bar that used to be a bit like a sports bar closed.
This is the second time we have stayed at this resort and although you could see it needs refurbishing which is happening next month our overall experience was great. We just love this resort. Our room was lovely and spotless and the staff are amazing. The real thing that let it down for me was the food. The fine dining restaurant that was open last time we were there was closed and it does not tell you this on their website. Was really looking forward to it as we could not get a table when we stayed last time. Also the other bar was bit like a sports bar was closed down as well. I felt the food in the main restaurant was inconsistent some days it was great other days had to send it back as it couldn't be eaten. Overall our experience was still wonderful. Look forward to seeing the changes when completed, just hope it doesn't become out of price range.

Nice Bure close to the beachPosted Oct 26, 2014
Location: Horse riding, snorkeling, river boat cruise, shopping, jet skiing, pool side bar and the list goes on...
Our stay was pleasant. The staff were delightful people, so warm and friendly. Stayed in a Bure which was perfect for staying on the beach. The Bure was not 5 star though we did not expect that as we did not pay for a 5 star place to stay. It was still beautiful and very much loved every minute of our stay there. Sonaisali Island Resort is now closed for 6 months and will open as a 5 star resort so anyone who has complained in the past and decide to stay there again then expect to pay for a 5 star resort. We would definitely stay there again!

Don't bother until after the reno'sPosted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: The palm trees.
Location: It's remote, there's nothing around the resort.
Let’s see, what can I say that’s positive about this hotel? I am struggling a little but I’ve come up with two things, one is that it has lovely palm trees and great view of the sunset, and the other is that it is closing next month for a full renovation. It needs it. The hotel is shabby and dated and in desperate need of a full renovation. Hence a good reason why it is virtually empty, save for a few guests. I could bang on about the hard/old beds that smell damp, the phone that doesn’t work, the additional “surcharges” that appear on anything you order on room service (undisclosed on the menu card), the brown beach sand and brown sea in front of it, but I choose to look at the blue sky, the palm trees and the beautiful sunset instead. Do yourself a favour, skip this over priced 2 star hotel until post its renovations. Hopefully, they’ll ship in some white sand and blue waters once it’s complete. C’mon Hilton, do your best.

Idyllic Resort in ParadisePosted Oct 17, 2014
Sonaisali Island Resort was a pleasure to say in, the staff were fantastic. What a shame it will be closing to renovate for the next 6 months, as it is perfect as is.

Nice resort but watch out for the taxi companyPosted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: The view and proximity to them ocean and the sound of the waves crashing was very relaxing. The kids club staff and all staff were very friendly.
Cons: Definitely the food and catering to specific requirements.
Location: Being so close to the mainland, the day trips to the main town was quite pleasant.
My family of 2 young kids and my husband enjoyed the tranquility of Soniasali Resort. The staff were very friendly. The food was a real downer. Apart from breakfast, the meals were very average in taste. We were also vegetarians and despite being assured they could cater to that, it was very disconcerting to see ham cooked on the same hot plate as bacon. The other very disturbing issues was around the taxi group at the ferry stop. We were picked up and dropped off by family who happened to whole taxis and despite telling this to the taxi people at the ferry stand, they got very aggressive with us as well as the taxi driver. Don't recall agreeing to using the taxis at the ferry as a condition of our stay! Very poor, aggressive tactics.

Needs lots of improvements!Posted Oct 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
Beautiful place but such a disappointing hotel. Dirty, terrible food, nothing to do, faulty ac and other room aspects, hard to get to and from. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Family Friendly ExperiencePosted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Staff very friendly and always willing to help which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. Spa bath on the deck overlooking the beach a definite plus. :)
Cons: Regular maintenance and repairs would enhance the facilities.
Location: Excellent location, easy access to everything with the benefit of an outer island holiday feel.
Great family resort with as much or a little to do as you wish. Some areas of the resort are getting a little tired and the menu can get boring after a while. However, would definitely consider staying here again.
