Highly recommend the Gecko ResortPosted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: Big rooms, friendly and happy helpful staff. Quiet and relaxing The surrounding grounds are beautiful, and well maintained. Most of all the cost
Cons: TV reception Pool could have shade cloth over the shallow end for the children....
Location: Easy access to Shangri la resort, Sigatoka for shopping and village shops Taxi's are easily available
We highly recommend the Gecko Resort. We stayed for 8 days, the staff were so friendly, always smiling. The food was great valve for money unlike the Shangri la which was quite expensive. Our room was a good size and was daily serviced. If you are on a budget, but still want the quality the Gecko Resort is for you. It is so peaceful. If you just want to relax you can. We were attending a wedding at the Shangri la. The friendly staff arranged transport when required for us to go to the Shangri la and to sigatoka. Giving us great advise on activities to do and places to visit. The TV reception was a pain, and the internet was slow, but hey we were on holiday.... made do without. After all we were in Fiji time people kept telling us. We had a great time and will be back. THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF FOR YOUR WONDERFUL SERVICE AND BEAUTIFUL SMILES VINAKA

Geckos - our best family holiday ever!Posted Jan 31, 2014
Cons: Not a lot!
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. The staff here are wonderful and they loved our children and the feeling was mutual. The rooms were better than many of the five star resorts we have stayed in and the facilities were excellent. The food was consistently good and probably the best food we have had in Fiji and excellent value for money; and therefore it was no surprise that the restaurant was packed most nights, often with refugees from other resorts in the area who had heard how good it was. The twice a week traditional dance and fire show were superb and we couldn't believe they were free. We visited Shangri La on many occasions for a change of scene and to go on dive trips, which is also a great resort but in terms of value for money Geckos is second to none. In conclusion, the is an excellent family friendly resort. The gardens are beautiful and the pool big enough for a decent swim but not huge. Our family group ranged in age form 2 years old to 82 and we were all catered for. The accommodation was great and the adjoining studio rooms, ideal for us - an excellent option if you're considering a holiday in Fiji!

Staff were exceptional, always helpful and happy, hotel room clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. Across the road is access to a major resort with some good snorkeling and facilities .The swimming pool is great and Sunday nights the resort has a really good cultural show.We would definately recommend this resort for value for money.

Pros: Really had a great time . There was also free wifi and access to facilities at the shangri la hotel.
Cons: Advertisement - when we booked, we were under the impression that the facilities stated on the ad were part of their compound, but it wasn't .
Location: Just facilities at the shangr la hotel
Love it - friendly staff, clean , comfortable room, entertainment

So perfect we booked to stay longerPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and quiet. Great food. Pool perfect temperature to relax in.
Location: Close to Sigatoka and just across from Shangri-La where you can use the beach there for no cost.
Wonderful surroundings and beautiful staff. Because the hotel was fully booked when we decided to stay on for 3 extra nights we had to have what is called an 'old room'. Room was not a problem - clean and very comfortable, but no fresh milk for coffee and no shampoo and conditioner supplied in 'old rooms'.

Family funPosted Oct 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed our stay at Gecko's resort. The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and they arranged a cot for my 8-month old daughter. The food was amazing at such a reasonable price. There was no beach on-site but a few minutes walk across the road to the Shangrila resort, allowed access to the beach. Over-all it was a great experience for the family!
Friendliest staff ever.Posted Oct 6, 2013
Gecko is a lovely quiet resort with a really good restaurant and bar, the coconut king prawn curry was to die for! The facilities are average but they were working hard on improvements plus the Shangrila is across the road and you can sign in as a visitor and use their 1st class facilities. The rooms are very nice and the staff keep the place very clean. They are also the friendliest staff we have ever met. Really lovely people.
