“Nikhil's Mana Island Resort Review”
Great service, beautiful beaches & most of all awesome people. (locals)
“Beautiful - only a few small drawbacks”
Absoultely wonderful. Lots of fun stuff to do, nice people, etc. Major drawback- food is not included in the price. Breakfast was an additional 15USD per day and lunch and dinner were about 20$ each per day. The restaurant is MUCH better than the buffet and frequently less expensive. Also, there is a "dive shop"/hostel that is right down the beach and they serve EXCELLENT food practically for free compared to the resort. Go to the resort's restaurant for lunch and dinner and the hostel for breakfast and you'll be set. Also, there are much more interesting people at the hostel :-) Second drawback for us; we're a young couple with no children and this place absolutely caters to families with children. I absolutely adore kids, but there were children EVERYWHERE, and the parents there seem to think that becasue it's a child-friendly resort that they have permission to let their children run wild with absoutely no supervison. We were there for a week and screaming running children were not the exception but the rule. If you have kids, this place is a dream. Actually- it's so beautifu that eve with the crazy screaming kids, it was still a dream.
“You must stay here!”
This was our first time to Fiji and we loved every minute! Mana is a great semi-private island. Very relaxing, I think time goes slower when you are on the island. In all of my travels I have yet to come across such a friendly staff, always smiling and eager to help you. The only thing to be warned about is the food, definitely could use some improvements. When you go be sure to say "Bula" to Sami, he's a great guy.
“A Great time”
Great resort at a great price. Whatever you do, don't stay on main land Fiji, it's just not a true Fiji experience. great honeymoon, there a kids, but that didn't bother us at all. The dive shop on Mana is better than any I've ever been to. On some dives it was just my wife and I with 2 dive masters and the boat captain. The food can be a bit pricey, but we brought over beer and food from a super market in Nadi for breakfast and lunch, then had dinner in the A-La-Carte restaurant. Can't recommend this place enough. We've heard Mana has the best reefs to snorkel off of and I can imagine that's gotta be the case. Make sure and fly to Zip Fiji, another great adventure...
“it was great honestly you could not be disappointed”
we booked two nights at mana not sure if we would spend our entire 5 nights n fiji there. we did end up staying another night there, so 3 nights in an island bure which are great, you dont need to spend the extra for the ocean view etc the island bures are in a great location. the island is small enough you can walk anywhere in no time. the meal buffets were really expensive 57$ for one dinner buffet. so we onlu ate breakfast buffet which was great. for dinner we wandered down to ratu kinis back packers and got great 12$ meals and cheap beer. snorkling is best off the north beach on the west point/headland.(not the beach with the jetty) it really was amazing we saw cuttlefish and all the reef fish. the mana beaches are really nice, we stayed one night on malolo and the beach was very tidal and rocky. mana was nicer be sure to hike to the lookout and to sunset beach at sunset! take time to talk to the ample staff they are great people. we saw the staff village, its a shanty town. for such a nice resort they make like 2$ an hour and dont even have doors on their employee houses, kind of disappointing. but i guess they live better than most impoverished fijians on the main land. i would definitely recommend this island and resort. you get a royal greeting and send off on the jetty. (go on the jetty at night and you see tons of fish swarming under the lights and big fish feeding)
“Never take an oceanview "Upgrade!"”
When we arrived at Mana we got a free Upgrade from the bookes Island Bure to an Oceanview room! We stayed there one night. It was dark, you could smell the moisture from the aircondition ... we really didn't like it. The second day I had a look at the Island Bures! They are really nice, so we changed the room back and had a wonderful time finally!
“Magical Mana”
a BEAUTIFUL ISLAND ,gorgeous beaches, amazing snorkeling loved the island bure with the outdoor shower ,only 2 problems no CD player in the room as the description says and they need better food....other than that loved Magical Mana Island!!!!!
“Beautiful Island and people”
The island was perfect, the staff excellent. The Bure was all we needed. The facilities are 3.5 stars and the island and staff 5 star. The pool area could use a little work but the beaches are special. We would definitely recommend this and would go back. The only problem we had was 6 days wasn't long enough and we couldn't book longer.
“Beauitful View, Bad Food”
More of a family & kids kind of place, but couples can find their own privacy on the North Beach if needed. The private deluxe Bures are really nice & the view from the pool is amazing. I would have to agree about the food on a lot of comments. We didn't do the meal plan and found ourselves spending about $90 USD on dinner buffet with a few drinks and it wasn't very good. I'm not much of a buffet kind of guy, but I've had much better $9.99 buffets in the States. Best food on our stay was on the mainland the two nights we ate in Nadi. Has potential to be a 5 star place with a few upgrades, much better food and make the smaller infinity pool sans kids for the adults and couples only.
“Nice Island”
The Island is nice, though the rooms can have cockroaches.
