“Wonderful Resort with Nice and Sincere ppl”

This is a great resort to go when you go to Fiji main island. It's is very large in space, with different restaurants, activities, and beautiful chalet. It's especially suitable for families with children that you have no worries of what activities to arrange for them.

We have stayed here many times since 1983. There are many great places to stay in Fiji (and we have tried many) but now we just go straight to The Fijian. Only 40 minutes from Nadi airport (suggest private car transfer). t has everything you need. You can do as much or as little as you want. I like togo and do very little. Staff are great. Grounds are fantastic. Many restaurants to choose from. Food has been a little too selective in past, but this year it was great. Prices are reasonable and casual wear in all but one restaurant. Kids meals can be bought for small price at most restaurants if your kids dont like the buffet. NO CHIPS and NO CHICKEN NUGGETS. their nuggets are actually fresh chicken schnitzels, and are delicious. You can buy these at the restauants even when not on menu. Just ask.!!! Our 2 grandsons had a ball, 7 and 11. The kids club is great, even though they did not use it. You can also eat at Geckos across the road, great meals and cheaper, just get a cab there and back (5 minutes) or walk over and cab it back. Great FREE show Fridays and Sunday nights. Make sure you play bingo and Trivia in Balck Marlin as this is an experience you wont forget. We are returning in Oct this year, cant wait.

What a great place!!! When we took the bus from the airport we've asked the people around us (who has been to Fiji a number of times) where should we go to and what we should as this is our 1st trip. One guy asked "Which resort are you in?" When we responded Shangri-La, he said "you will not need to go anywhere...everything is there". Well he was right...it was a splendid drive into the resort at night time, although it took almost 45 minutes to get there. The pools were crystal clear...and one is 'an adults only' pool. There is a beach at the main pool but it gets quite small with high tide. Breakfast was included in our package and yes dinner is expensive and so is alcohol. TIP: Buy alcohol at the airport on arrival it is duty free and almost half price. We decided to go out the 2nd last night and went to Tomlu's; one of the other reviews indicated it was much cheaper. It was not the case and the surroundings made me feel like I am back in Africa :-)...food was absolutely great though. Shangri-La does cushion you from the true Fiji lifestyle...although they have a number of day trips so it is all about how you want to build/customise your holiday We travelled with a 7 and 4 year old and had plenty to do. On checkin I spoke to a lady that has been coming to Fiji for years and she said it was the last time as her kids outgrew it. She felt that kids from 14 years and up was not well accommodated for, luckily I still have a number of years to return!!!

Me and my partner have been travelling for six months and this hotel has been one of the most enjoyable on our trip. Room was spacious, with big bathroom and private balcony. Not one fault with room. Cleaned every day. Staff out of this world and made this holiday a unique experience. lots of night time entertainment. Food quality exceptional and at really reasonable costs. adult only areas if you want peace, beautiful beaches which no one else in resort seems to use so feels like you are on your own private beach. hotel is located on its own island with a bridge connecting to main land. definatly will be revisiting.

It's hard to go wrong in Fiji, and you certainly won't if you stay at the Shangri La. The resort is just as its name implies -- paradise on earth. While the buildings are a little bit older, the rooms were recently renovated and are very comfortable/clean/secure. Best of all, the beaches surrounding the resort are postcard-perfect, and very peaceful. The Shangri La's staff is second to none... I have never encountered more helpful and welcoming people at any hotel or resort. Everything was so easy! Hope to make it back sometime!

One of the best holiday's we've had. The hotel, staff, food and location were all excellent. The perfect combination for a good relaxing getaway. I would recommend this place to anyone of any age!

Stayed in July with our two year old and loved it.Food was good.Beach and pool area was clean.Staff very friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend for a family with young children.
