Sheraton Denarau - we liked itPosted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: The shared facilities with the next-door Westin resort is a good idea, we didn't make much use of them however. Rooms are quiet (see above)
Cons: A stricter policy on towel loaning - seeing people walk away with armloads of towels exhausting the supply very early in the morning
Location: Located in the Denarau resort strip. Has BulaBus service to Port Denarau marina and local 'Westbus' service to Nadi, so getting around is quite OK
Typical Sheraton resort experience - good value if you get a good deal. Some newer resorts in the area but there are some advantages to the Sheraton, especially if you don't have breakfast included in your room tariff. Right at the driveway entrance is an outlet of the 'Bulaccino' coffee chain and across the road is the Golf & Racquet Club providing meal options. The Denarau resort experience offers little in the way of local culture, some will prefer the bustle of the hotels in Nadi. Access to Port Denarau from Sheraton is easy, most cruises leave from here, and there is a good selection of restaurants at the marina. At Sheraton, don't be too fussed about a beach view room as you may find yourself more involved in weddings than you'd prefer

Good option for Denerau with toddlerPosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: It was quiet, friendly and had good facilities close by including a little supermarket where food was much cheaper.
Cons: No real issues - but the food is not amazing, the seafood is pretty average (there are cheaper and better meal options at the Marina).
Location: There are a variety of food options close by with a variety of prices. Lots of resorts are in close walking distance, or a short bus ride.
Staff were friendly, the pool was great for a toddler with the inclusion of a sandy part to play in. The room was clean and nicely presented. One of the groundskeepers presented us with a coconut to drink/eat that he had taken down from a tree that morning - a nice touch on the last day of our stay. It was also nice being able to charge meals/purchases back to our room at the two surrounding resorts. Make sure you grab a meal at the Hilton noodle restaurant!

nice hotelPosted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: excellent service, friendly staff, clean rooms and pretty much everything
Cons: if using internet in the room its very slow, funny 24 hour complimentary was very fast, once you purchase for 4 days it is useless.
We had absolutely wonderful time , OMG the Fijian people are so nice so friendly and polite. Beach is really nice and service is excellent no need to wait for service at all.

Recommended but with a few caveatsPosted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Guest services personnel were great. They always followed up to see if your requests for any services were indeed met. Staff friendly, polite and nice
Cons: The improvement really needs to come from the way expedia and the hotel communicate. Expedia says one thing, Hotel says another.
Location: Contact Epi ( Driver and car) through reception, he is local and very knowledgeable about things to do and see. But deal with him direct. can save $$$
You think when you book into a five star you'd assume the room rate includes breakfast right? Wrong! Expedia does not tell you specifically on their booking page that breakfast is not included in the room rate but you will discover it tucked away into their little notes only after you've gone past the Payment page and submitted your credit card details. Then you will discover that the Transfer transport from the airport to the Hotel and back is also charged separately. Meals at the resort are sumptuous and fulsome but expensive. More reasonably priced options are available at Port Denarau not too far away but getting there you have to take a "Bula Bus" costing about A$ 10 per head return for a relatively short distance. If you want to get value for this mode of transport its advisable to buy a ticket at the start of the day and it can be used without limit for the rest of the day. So plan your days well.

Great resortPosted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Great choices of restaurants and pools.
Cons: WIFI needs more antennas or whatever to have faster speeds
Location: Great spot at Denerau wharf
Great hotel staff ..fabulous farewell song by staff at Feast. Very moving.. Loved Flying Fish restaurant , and Feast.. service and food world class. Worst aspect was terrible WIFI..impossible if you are on a holiday that requires you to continue to work.. We paid for 5 days fast service but it was no different to the free WIFI which was mind numbingly slow and cut out all the time after 5 mins use .. We called many time for something to be done but it only changed for about 1 hour then back to almost nothing again.
