Excellent for Fiji

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Food is perhaps the best in Fiji with the Salt & V restaurants.
Cons: The Lagoon Restaurant is very pricey considering it is the least quality pleasing restaurant in hotel and shared with almost everyone.
Location: The South Sea Island Combo trip is the best value of the day trips, with time spent on an Island and tour of other Fiji Islands.
This hotel has a five star location and setting with rooms barely on the cusp of four star, the facilities such as bathrooms, public toilets are two star with poor tile work and lack of five star quality (all that said one should look at where the locals live, this really is paradise for Fiji) for the Sofitel brand there is a lack of quality control.

Lovely setting, quiet rooms, great staff!

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The location, the clean rooms, the setting, the pool, the beachfront, the staff………...
Cons: The price of meals could be more competitive.
Location: The marina shops and restaurants was within walking distance. An awesome Indian restaurant on road towards Nadi ($10 by cab) called the Bombay Lodge.
The hotel catered for everyone for kids and adults alike. The rooms were very quiet and clean. Fiji can be as relaxing or as exciting as you want. The staff were exceptional..extremely welcoming, friendly, helpful and always guaranteed a warm smile. The only downside to the sofitel was the dining seemed to be more expensive than neighboring resorts. We tended to eat outside of the resort.

Poor.

Shabby fixtures. Understaffed. Noisy during night. Wouldn't use a Sofitel again.

7 nights in Fiji

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Everything ... except the bathroom in our room!
Cons: The bathroom was cramped and not big enough to have a bath/shower and toilet. The area outside the bathroom with the vanity and cupboards was great.
Location: Centrally located in Denarau, only 15-20 mins from Nadi Airport. Waterpark, mudpaths and hot springs, Nadi town, several small villages, the marina.
A week long stay for myself and my 7 year old daughter. Activities supplied free of charge and amenities available were excellent. The pool and beach areas are lovely. Staff are willing to please and friendly.

Nice resort

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Location: I strongly recommend to go to various cruise trips to offshore islands for pristine waters and great snorkeling.
We had a great experience staying at the resort. Staff were friendly and attentive to all our requests. The full breakfast is expensive (48FJD) but includes a great variety of food and champagne for the good start to a day. The pool is large, warm and clean. Three restaurants provide different varieties of food from the buffet style to a porsche sitting at V.

Great pool, lots of beach water-sport activities.

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Staff were great. The roaming singers were a lovely touch as the locals have such beautiful voices. The pastries and french breads were excellent.
Cons: The food at the buffet was okay but could be improved. My vegetarian daughter found it hard to get something suitable and tasty.
Location: Located near other large resorts which was great for dining. The Marina had some shopping and restaurants but nothing special. Local buses easy to use
All staff very friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms that are modern and well furnished, the shower a little tired though. Easy to get around the surrounding areas as a local bus stops at hotel every 5 - 10 mins. A very relaxing place to unwind.

Nice Hotel

Posted Jul 7, 2014
We used the Sofitel Denerau as a stop over to our Island resort, staying 1 night each end. The first night I used an airline upgrade voucher and got a room in the main block so it did not seem too special. We had also just joined the Accor Club and a nice surprise was they gave us 2xdrink vouchers, not sure if it was because we were staying as a Club member first time, anyway gratefully accepted. On the return visit on our way home, I did not use my second upgrade voucher as all rooms would have the same aspect, however we were given room 199 which is ground floor, the furthest away from reception and the oldest part of the complex, I guess someone had to get it, not sure if it was because we had booked with a good rate on Expedia and it was now school holidays but being a Club member you think we would have got something a little closer to the action. It was not a big deal, the complex is very nice and caters for a lot of families, after our 5 days on an "adults only" resort it could be overwhelming to some people - but they all seemed to be having a good time. Quite a Hi-de-Hi feeling. Good place for a one night stop or for families. We walked to the port for dinner on the first night, only 1km and 12 minutes. In fact to catch our ferry at 7.30am, there was no shuttle bus operating due to the early hour so we just wheeled our bags down, quite a pleasant walk in the cool morning.

Hotel with good pool but average rooms and food

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Good family hotel and nice beach and pool. Selected the hotel due to the water slides my kids love using. Make sure to get the Accor Advantage card to save on meals. The meals are average and expensive. The room we stayed was small compared to the other hotels I have stayed for the same price. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was cleaned later in the day only.
