“Great Location great friendly service”
We only stayed here for one night but the location service and amenities are great. A great friendly place to stay
“A wonderful Fijian retreat!”
The hotel and service was wonderful! The grounds were well kept and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
“5-Star hotel with bad attitude”
Everything at the Westin was as expected in term of location, property, atmosphere, and food. The service was the worst part of the hotel. I expected a lot more from an aclaimed 5-star hotel. First, when I booked the hotel, I requested a pick-up, but the pick-up never came. As I arrived at the hotel and asked about my pick-up, the frontdesk said my message was incomplete. So, I wonderred whether the hotel had any intention to contact guest back in regard of the incomplete message? As a woman travelling alone, I was not please with the services I received. Hotel employees asked me questions about whom I was with, was I with my friend or anyone, the purpose of me being there. The shuttle driver asked if I spent the night alone or I did experience something Fiji (that the way he put it). I felt uncomfortable with the questions. I requested something from the housekeeping to be sent to my room and it never came. I had to stop by at the frontdesk myself. People had different information about services provided by the hotel and one-stop would not get me the answer.
“Best of the Starwood properties”
The Westin is an old property, but fits well into the landscape. The two-story buildings face the ocean and provide full ocean views for the "ocean front rooms". The dark wood used inside and outside gives the hotel a very authentic feeling. It is certainly the best of the Starwood properties along the Nadi shore. Friendly service, decent menus and changing entertainment makes this hotel a good buy for the money. very good: ocean front rooms, spa; less impressive: ocean beach, restaurant service.
“Would recommend to others”
Best Starwood Hotel we've stayed in. We normally do not vacation via Resort Hotels since we like to stay amongst the locals. We had two beautiful luxurious days and two nights at the Westin. Employees were extremely helpful and responsive. When our room card wouldn't work and an employee saw we were having problems he insisted on having us wait while he went and corrected the error. We never ate at the hotel as we thought the meals were very overpriced. We were disappointed with the meals at the port as the food was marginal in comparison to the local indian fare we ate while visiting Savusavu. Quite frankly we liked the meals we picked up at the supermarket at the port the best and the coffee shop just outside of the Sheraton. We wish would have tried out the spa services - they looked fabulous. We would recommend this hotel to others as we agreed the beds were heavenly.
“Falling Apart”
The problem with the Westin Denarau is not just that it is falling apart ( even the TV didn't work and no one came to fix it after request) but also the rudeness of the front desk staff upon arrival . The agent appeared to be overworked, but why take it out by treating the arrivals as if she wished they would go away.
“The hotel was nice.”
The only problems with the hotel were check in and check out. We arrived early and could not check in for several hrs. We also needed a late check out and tried to arrange it early and were told that we had to wait until the night before check out. The night before check out we asked again and were told that we needed to check out by 11 am or pay $100. Our flight did not leave until 11 pm so we paid the $100. During that extra 7 hrs that we were there we had the maid, the mini bar service, the bug sprayer and phone calls.
“Great relaxing stay”
Arrived from Australia (direct flight from Adelaide to Nadi) a 30 minute A$15 taxi ride and was at the hotel. Beautiful open style reception hall opening on to the pool and the sea. Our room was an ocean front room, very comfartable ,2 large double beds, first floor with a balcony, flat screen TV , nice en-suite and great views over the bay towards an island. Yes, service is laid back and patchy but much nicer then the sanitised north american style of service in "business" hotel chains. We wanted to relax and Denarau is ideal for that, basically no shopping or sight seeing (Nadi is not worth a visit) although I know people who went on boat trips enjoyed themselves. Good golf course in the middle of the island and available to anyone. Westin Gym was good for a hotel gym with a good weights station and a reasonable range of dumbbells as well as cardio machines and was well utilised. Great 25m lap pool. Breakfast was good. Eating out was easy with the 5 big hotels and the restaurants at the marina (none really cheap but none really expensive either). Best value eating was at the Sofitel , especially with an Advantage Plus card. Westin was quieter with fewer kids than the Sheraton (which is slightly flashier). We travelled with our two girls 12 and 15 and they were able to wander freely between the resorts or take the Bula-Bus and occupy themselves being ladies of leisure while we read at the poolside. I'd certainly go again, and would stay at the Westin again
“Honeymoon Interrupted”
Moving from a private island to a corporate hotel at the end of our stay in Fiji, we expected a downgrade in experience. However, we were far more dissappointed than expected. The water shuttle was inoperable, the hot tubs were not heated, our toiletries were never refilled, and promises to help went unfulfilled. Most importantly, however, we had another guest walk in while my new bride and I were in bed together, as the staff had given another guest keys to the same room. To compensate? We were moved to the same quality of room in a different building with a worse view. Fiji is beautiful, but this hotel dampened our stay.
“THE BEST HOTEL WE EVER WENT TO AND WE HAVE BEEN TO MANY”
My Wife and I are staying in Fiji for awhile for business so we are locals and have tons of places to choose from!! We were attracted to the pics and amenities! From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were amazed! Jone was exceptionally helpful and the staff was Super friendly! We choose an Ocean Front room and It was like our own home away from home! The rates were more than fair especially for all they offer! Even though we will end up living in Nadi,we will still spend our special occasions as our 1st Wedding Anniversary and her 50th birthday next month in the same week so we can't wait to spend our time in such a Truly Romantic Place! This is the best choice you could make either for Business or Pleasure!!!
