Perfect romantic hideaway

Peaceful, comfortable clean. All staff friendly and helpful. Outdoor shower was incredible. Worth the little extra for an air condirioned villa. Preferable if you have your own transport.

Beautiful place, nice room and lovely staff.

Great location can do absolutely everything from here; city visits, snorkel trips, jungle trips, rafting and the best scuba diving; the famous Bistro shark dive. Resort is beautiful, clean and has everything you need. All staff is very friendly. Would love to come back here one day.

Gorgeous area right by the beach

Posted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: Villa was right by the beach - a short walk from our patio - outside shower was so nice to wash off the sand so you didn't track it in your room.
Location: We enjoyed the island day trip, gamefishing, ziplining and a visit to the capital city Suva
We stayed in the beach villa. When we first got there, we did not expect such nice accommodations, the pictures we seen on the internet did not do this place justice. Great food, friendly staff would definitely stay here again.

Quiet paradise

Posted Feb 3, 2014
Great small resort right on the beach. We were there in off-peak so was very quiet which to our liking. Close to the local arts village, approx. 10 min walk and only a few dollars if you want to catch a cab. Staff are exceptionally friendly and attend to all needs without hesitation. The beach front bure was very nice, though only fans for cooling which we found adequate. Last 2 nights we spent in a villa...very spacious and a/c which was welcomed. Food was okay, I would recommend the curries and local cuisine as this is far nicer than the 'western' menu items.

Too expensive

Its not really what you paying for. Very average condition. Apart from the pool and beach the whole hotel is old and needs some real work done.

Pros: The location...our accommodation was 30m from the water line. Swim, walk or lounge around....all good.
Location: The Arts Village (15mins walk) is great, with an excellent supermarket and very reasonably priced restaurants
The beachfront bure was fantastic....great views, and so relaxing. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, and the traditional dance show with fire dancing and buffet all for $35FD was great value.

Uprising Beach Resort - January 2014

Posted Jan 21, 2014
We stayed at the resort for 2 weeks in January 14, we had a beach villa which was extremely clean and very comfortable. There were a couple of very small niggly issues when we first arrived (safe wouldn't open and the TV didn't work), but these were addressed with warm and friendly smiles by the very helpful staff, so really was not an issue. The resort itself is lovely and staff are very friendly, the beach and water were gorgeous, but could have been a bit cleaner, however, this in no way detracted from the enjoyment of our holiday. The villa was comfortable enough for 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children), but to be honest, we were out most of the time enjoying the beach, resort or doing activities of one sort or another. The only thing I think they can improve upon is the quality and price of the food, not the best, however, Baka Blues café just up the road at the Art Village was exceptional ! All in all, would thoroughly recommend the resort, but eat out at the Baka Blues !

Pros: Position, trees, breakfast.
Hotel is GORGEOUS. Was a little concerned it would be crowded for holiday season but it wa just right. We were worried whether we would need air cond too, but ocean breeze keeps room cool at night. Staff were great, as was free brekky.
