Great rooms, beach front, perfectPosted Nov 4, 2013
Great for couples or families, great staff, always friendly and helpful. We stayed in the beach front villa which was modern and perfect for us.

Beautiful spot on the beach.Posted Nov 2, 2013
Pros: Right on the beach. Good swimming. Lovely bures.
Cons: Perhaps some PR training for front staff. 'Little things' such as providing hair driers and umbrellas. Showing people to their rooms.
Location: Nearby activities can be organised at a cost. The beach and swimming would be the most appealing activity on site.
Lovely beachfront bures. Great swimming. Found the lighting too dim to read. Would have really appreciated a hair drier in the room and also the use of an umbrella. Some staff were lovely, but others were fairly detached. A little more interest in being welcoming and helpful really supports a business. I enjoyed it as a quiet get-away however.

Great holiday placePosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: I loved the villas, spacey and with fijian character. Hotel beach is exquisite, staff is super friendly.
Cons: We went with two kids and there are no activities for them and not many families visiting.
Location: Located two hours from the airport, weather is often rainy in the Pacific Harbour part of the island but it is still warm and pleasant.
We have stayed two weeks at the Uprising villa which was very lovely. Two rooms give lots of space, hotel provides extra bed if required. Hotel restaurant serves great food, also the nearby arts village has excellent restaurants, would highly recomment Blues Rock Cafe. The village is 10min walk or taxi costs $3. There are no other nearby villages to visit, we went to both Suva and Nadi and they are definitely not pleasant touristic cities. I would highly recommend the village tours - we went to Namuamua village and I am still left thinking about the people leaving there.

Relaxing bure by the beachPosted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: The authentic and relaxing feel The proximity to the beach The friendly and helpful staff
Location: The resort is a 2 hour taxi drive from Nadi on the Pacific Coast. There is trekking, water sports and the arts village
We looked for an affordable place which would open up onto the beach and we weren't disappointed. If you want the sound of rolling waves and cool breezes and a place to relax this is it. We weren't looking for excitement or heaps of restaurants or shops nearby. The hotel staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar had delicious affordable food in a nice variety (the pizzas were a favourite as we're the iced coffees and cocktails) for our first couple of days it seemed like we had the place mostly to ourselves and then it got a bit busier on the weekends. The bure and gardens were beautiful with an authentic Fijian feel. I was intrigued by the outdoor shower but it was gas powered and lovely and warm. It was actually quite relaxing. The other facilities are well maintained as well including a beach volleyball court and in ground pool. There are staff who organise fishing and snorkelling charters and the reception staff booked us into a Navua River trek which was surprising and a real treat. Lucky it was raining as we got nice and wet during the river crossings:-). I would definitely go there again particularly to unwind and get away from it all.

Wonderful,super friendly staffPosted Sep 11, 2013
Cons: Maybe make the FREE activities available to use on any day,not just on set days.
Location: ,a market was located down the road as was a golf course. Cheap bottler down the road. Lots of things to do in area but with a cost.

Fiji Beach ResortPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: The Uprising Resort had a genuine laid back feeling which we welcomed after having spent several full on days at a luxury resort in Denerau.
Cons: In addition to the bear essential cups and drinking glasses supplied we would have liked some wine glasses, plates & fruit knives and a dish towel.
Location: Other resorts can be accessed along the approx 3KM beach walk as well as a well stocked mini market, shopping and craft centre at Pacific Harbour.
Interesting beach resort with well maintained and beautiful gardens, a smallish pool and lounging area set alongside the semi covered dining and bar areas. Accommodation is a mix of beach front and garden bures and villas, and dorms all built in the traditional Fijian style, simply furnished and comfortable. The beach was wide clean sand and safe swimming. The restaurant offered an interesting set menu at reasonable prices with daily specials including fresh fish and garden produce.

fabulous place to stayPosted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: The very personal service.Excellent
Cons: would have liked some form of entertainment at night.
Location: We had overcast weather the whole time, apparantly it tends to be sunnier on the other side of the island.
We stayed here for 4 nights, the staff, meals, accommodation was excellent. We stayed in a garden villa.Enjoyed the fire show, did find it a little quiet at nights, but being a smaller resort,i imagine its difficult to plan entertainment in the hope there will be an audience.Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful place to stay.

Wonderful Staff, Really Nice ResortPosted Aug 21, 2013
Pros: I really loved the lounge chairs by the pool.
Cons: Other than the fire dancing/traditional dancing night, there wasn't much to do. Many of the proposed activities didn't actually happen.
Location: The location is close to the road, which made for easy access to the Arts Centre shopping "mall" and an easy pickup/drop-off for the local bus!
Uprising was a beautiful resort to stay at while we were in Fiji. The pool area has great lounging chairs or there is the option of lying on the beach as well. We loved our private bungalow (especially the detached outdoor shower).

Lovely PlacePosted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: The room and the design of the hotel
Cons: don't have one
Location: The website explains where it is and it was as I expected. The local bus takes awhile (3 hours) but at least you get to go through the towns.
I was meeting people elsewhere and had a couple of days on my own. I stayed in a villa garden room that was really comfortable. The resort is right on the beach and there is another resort at the other end of the beach for a nice stroll in the morning or afternoon. There is a golf course behind the resort within walking distance (not with clubs). The art town is nice and the food there was very good. The buffet at the hotel had a good variety and was enjoyable. The beach has no coral but you can organise to get to trips at reception. You can get a local bus to the resort from Nadi for about 20 fiji and can wave it down when you leave. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Perfect GetawayPosted Aug 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Bula! This is the perfect place to get some relaxation and peacefulness. The accommodations was great and the food was good, and reasonably priced. Suva City was about 30-40 minutes away. We plan to return here next year. Aloha
