A pleasant place to stay!!!

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Position
Cons: Parking
Location: On a roundabout ,but close to shops and the beach
Only stayed for one night , but we were very satisfied with the B and B . Central to Filey ,and with in easy reach of the beach and shops!!! The en-suite room was a good size and clean and we were allowed to bring the dog, which was a bonus, but a chair or two would have been an advantage. The breakfast was very good ,but would have liked to have a choice of croissants and fresh fruit! The main downside was the lack of parking, but nothing unusual in a seaside town. Despite being positioned close to the roundabout, we heard no traffic noise and slept well. All in all a pleasant stay and would recommend to friends and family.

Ok B&B for price paid

Posted Jul 31, 2014
This guest house is in a good location close to bus and train stations and within easy reach of the beach and local amenities. We had a family room which was ok except for the bathroom which was ridiculously small and in no way big enough for a family room. I have soup bowls bigger than the sink! The breakfast was ok except I was limited to a cooked breakfast and/or toast every day because there was only semi-skimmed milk for cereal and I can only have skimmed milk.

Clean and tidy

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Acceptable
Cons: Curtains to make the room at, least, a little darker at night.
Location: Couple of minutes walk from rail, bus, library and Tesco store. Up to 10 minutes walk to shops and beach.
On arrival I gained the impression that I had no reservation. Fortunately I could produce a copy of my Expedia reservation printout. This was taken away and a few minutes later returned with the explanation that there had been, "some confusion". I was then taken to my room. An anxious few moments after a long journey.Had there been a double booking ? Good job I arrived reasonably early with my Expedia printout. The room was clean, tidy, light and airy. Shower and toilet clean. Plenty of electrical sockets and internet wireless access very good. I was impressed with the freshly cooked breakfast. Although the brewing facilities and biscuits were excellent I found a very unpleasant, lingering taste to my brew of tea. I think it was the Tetley tea bags because when I got my own tea bags there was a big improvement. The location was excellent. A couple of minutes from the rail and bus station and a large Tesco store. 10 minutes walk from the beach. On a personal front I found there was an intrusion of street lighting which made the room very light all night.

Excellent stay very near to all the shops

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: It was clean, well decorated, the food was excellent , it was near the station, supermarket and town shops and close to the beach.
Cons: The curtains in the bedroom by putting a thick linning.
Location: Filey beach and promenade. Near to Bridlington and Scarborough, excellent centre for children Playdale Farm with soft play areas and animals.
The only reason we rated 4 was because the bedroom curtains were white with no linning and we were woken up at 4 with the light streaming through the curtains.

Last minute stay over

Posted May 13, 2014
Pros: the large King size bed.
Cons: the out side could do with a lick of paint and a broken wall fixing.
Location: Filey is a nice resort with everything within walking distance.
My partner and I was going to go to a car boot which when we got there was off, so we decided to spend the day in Filey, then to stay over night, we booked in on the internet on my phone, we were pleasantly surprised with the overall cleanliness of the Hotel, we had an excellent breakfast, fresh farm eggs my partner even had a double yolker, nothing was to much for the proprietor.

Great little B&B in the heart of Filey town centre

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Location, price, contemporary style, great customer service.
Cons: The on-suite was a bit small for a family of 4
Location: Beach, gardens with a great play ground for the kids. If you've not been to the area before you need to visit North Landing at Flamborough Head.
We booked a short Easter break with our two girls (7,3) so booked a family room with bunk beds. On arrival we had a warm welcome, room was nice and furnished in a modern contemporary style ( no chintz, doilies or dodgy lamp shades anywhere in sight). Although the room could have been a little bigger it suited our needs just fine, there was even a box of kids books for the kids which went down really well. Breakfast was great, good choice, large portions and really good quality. Location is good too located towards the top end of the town near the bus station, there no on site parking but we had no trouble finding space on a side street. All in all a great B&B we'll worth a look with or without kids.

Old fashioned guest house in centre of town.

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Excellent breakfast very nicely served. Although on a busy roundabout excellent double glazing kept any noise out.
Cons: The bed creaked loudly every time one of us turned over. The blind on the velux window did not close properly so the light came in right above our hea
Location: Had a nice day out in Scarborough but tickets for sea life centre are very expensive so is their catering!
Lack of parking is a problem. We were lucky to find a spot in a nearby side street.Very good for train travellers as close to the station.
