This is a highly unique property located in an extraordinary place in the desert. They staff was terrific and the excursions to the Fish River Canyon were quite remarkable.

Great rooms, wonderful staff. Amazing meals. The country side is gorgeous. An amazing place to stay with wildlife wandering the grounds and a wonderful pool to cool off in.

Great lodge in a great location
Great place to stay in a spacious setting and with a pool that looks over the desert. It is close to Fish River Canyon, being about a 30 minute easy drive. Ask for a room in the rocks overlooking the desert. Food offering is good considering the location and style of accommodation. Staff are friendly.

A visit to Bedrock
This was a once in a lifetime experience. It was at the end of a very long and arduous drive but well worth it. An arrangement of chalets built into the natural rock formation of the area. We even had a huge rock protruding into our bedroom and bathroom. The service was impeccable with friendly and helpful staff.

Unusual, peaceful, pleasant
Like an oasis in the desert Canyon Lodge offered a delightful respite from the harsh surroundings. The accommodation consists of 25 small chalets with thatched roof, some built into rock. They have air on but no fridge, and are quite small, but clean. We booked in for 4 nits, but left after 3, as activities were limited. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, some distance from the other buildings and very peaceful. We would go again, but for no more than 2 nights.

Lovely lodge
The lodge is in an amazing setting. The surrounding rocks were the best part the chalets are lovely but a bit cramped. We had to walk a long way to the main lodge but conversely we had privacy

Good place to stay near Fish River Canyon
Comfortable well appointed rooms set into the rocky landscape with good outlook. Good meals and chef made a special effort to cater for vegetarian requirements.

Self driving couple from Cape Town, South Africa.
The Eastern side of the Fishriver Canyon is the best side to visit. There are lots of animals on the road, from Impala, mountain zebras and Springbok to little klipspringers. Canyon Lodge is also THE place to be when visiting this area. Fantastic pool area, the honesty bar is a novel idea and the setting is just beautiful. Loads of great photo opportunities here. Then a quick 20km drive to Canyon Roadhouse is an absolute must!

Enjoyable stay near Fish River Canyon
Very nice and quiet chalet (# 25) away from other rooms and walking paths (some chalets have paths to other chalets that pass nearby). A bit of a walk to the main lodge, but we liked it that way. Some rooms require walking up and down a series of steps, so if this is an issue for you, be sure to tell reception when you book! We ate dinner one night and absolutely enjoyed it, but only ate 1 night due to the high price for the buffet. Breakfast was included in our room and was also very nice. The lodge may look a bit out of place in the middle of the dessert with all the green lawns and flowers, but for us it was a welcome sight after camping and traveling long distances. Only complaint was that there was dust and spider webs up under the thatch roof and dust on the top of the walls, but it really wasn't very noticeable.

spectacular location
The Lodge is a green oasis surrounded by rocks and sand with a magnificent pool setting. Some of he individual rock cottages are actually built against the huge boulders, so parts of the boulder forms the wall of the cottage. If you like your privacy this is certainly the place.The food and service are very good.The Canyon Village is close by (5 minutes drive or 20 minute walk) which allows you to have a change in dining venues.The Canyon Village accommodation is similar except the cottages are not surrounded by lush green lawns, but is much cheaper. I would certainly stay there again, it would take a lot to beat the spectacular setting.

Good Location
The lodge was excellent but pricey for what was provided. We had a chalet with great views over the surrounding area. However that means that it's a long walk from the reception area and car park. For the price we'd have expected at least a fridge and tea facilities in the room. Neither was there a phone link to allow you to order drinks or snacks from reception. Only option would be a long walk to get such.

Die Lage der Canyon Lodge ist traumhaft, das Essen hervorragend , die Zimmer urig, das Bad ist etwas klein, aber die Dusche ist groß. Die Guides sind hervorragend . Der Swimmingpool ist zwar etwas weiter weg vom Gesamtkomplex , dafür mitten im Nirgendwo, was auch sehr reizvoll sein kann.

Super Lodge und sehr einzigartig
Wir hatten ein family-room gebucht und Lodge nr. 21 bekommen. Dieser Raum war sehr interessant, fast wie eine Höhle, da mehrere Felsen integriert waren. Das Bad ging nochmals 5 Stufen weiter runter. Fantastisch!!! Trotzdem sind wir nach der 1 Nacht in das Häuschen Nr. 28 umgezogen. Dieser Raum war der von der Abbildung im Internet, sehr hell und luftig. Der Nachteil war jedoch, man musste sehr weite Wege zurücklegen und viele Stufen hoch. Wir haben uns in dieser Lodge sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Wir waren in 5 Gondwana-Lodges und dies war mit Abstand die beste, obwohl auch hier im Zimmer kein Kühlschrank vorhanden war. Von der Lodge aus ist man in 20 Min. am Canyon.

Umgebung, Pool, Chalets in den Fels integriert war hervorragend. Es fehlte bei der Hitze ein Kühlschrank. Bei drei Nächten viel zu geringer Stauraum. Das Licht im Chalet kann romantisch sein, aber um ein Buch zu lesen, reicht es nicht. WiFi war nur im Restaurant/Rezeptionsbereich vorhanden und da auch nur 100mb pro Tag. Essen: Kein Lunchangebot, Dinner fast gleich an mehreren Abenden, Fleischqualität verbesserungswürdig. Espresso/Cappuccino nicht vorhanden.

Empfang und Betreuung waren sehr herzlich und persönlich. Die Lodge selbst ist harmonisch in die Landschaft integriert, die Poolanlage atemberaubend. Man sieht praktisch alle heimischen Tierarten; Zebras, Oryxe und Spingböcke spazieren überall herum, einfach paradiesisch! Essen und Getränke haben ebenfalls sehr gut geschmeckt. Unser Chalet war rustikal eingerichtet und bot nicht sehr viel Platz, aber abends war's richtig gemütlich. Die Valentin's Day-Dekoration war liebevoll und aufwändig gemacht. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und wären gerne länger geblieben!

Gute Lodge als Ausgangspunkt zum Fish River Canyon
Eine grüne Oase inmitten der trockenen Landschaft. Sehr empfehlenswert ist der geführte Morning Walk und auch der kostenlose Sundowner Walk auf einen nahegelegenen Felsen. PS: Laundry Service hat super funktioniert.

Tolle Lage mit traumhaften Pool
Die Anlage ist etwas größer und eher nicht auf Individualismus ausgelegt. Die Bungalows sind sehr süß und die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Das Abendbuffet hat noch Optimierungspotenzial. Der Pool ist aber phänomenal, ebenso die Lage in den Steinen.

Nice Hotel in a superb location
The location of the hotel is fantastic and the hotel compound itself is beautiful. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly, but could have been a little bit more motivated. Some minor details could be improved like table cloths for dinner on the terrace, sufficient towels at the pool etc, only little things, but this is what you would expect from a hotel in this category.

ให้ห้องพักไม่ตรงกับที่จองไป เราจอง familly room แต่ให้ห้องธรรมดา พอบอกกับพนักงานว่าห้องที่ให้ไม่ถูกต้อง พนักงานตอบกลับมาว่าไม่มีห้องว่าง คุณก็คงต้องพักห้องธรรมดา เราถามว่าแล้วจะรับผิดชอบกับส่วนต่างของราคาอย่างไร พนักงานบอกไม่สามารถทำอะไรได้ ด้วยหน้าตาแบบไม่มีการช่วยเหลือใดๆ พอเราไม่ยอม หายไปสักพัก แล้วกลับมาบอกเราว่ามีห้องว่างให้ เป็น familly room หมายความว่า ถ้าเราไม่โวยวาย ก็จะไม่มีการรับผิดชอบใดๆ จากที่พัก รุ้สึกแย่มาก กับการบริการ

自然の岩を利用した部屋と絶景プール
絶景のプール。 岩山の合間に作られ、遠くまで見渡せる景色の中で、プールに入るもよし、のんびりとベッドチェアで過ごすもよし。最高でした。 また、私たちの部屋は、岩を利用して作られた部屋で、他では真似できない特別感があり、非常によかったです。 宿泊して本当によかったと思います。

Canon Lodge ist eine fantastisch gelegene Unterkunft am Fish River Canon, gelegen inmitten des für Liebhaber solcher Arider Gebiete gelegenen Godwana Nature Reserve! Einfach unvergleichlich!!
