“Like walking into a museum”
Restored 118 year old hotel. Owners and hotel great
“Very Impressive, Friendly, Atypical Hotel”
The hotel is located in the center of Williams, Arizona and is the oldest hotel still in operation in that state. Each room has a theme which reflects the period right around the First World War in time. The rooms are the original size, but that is fine - there are larger rooms available when travelling with children. It has the comfort of being at home. My wife and I adored it and will definitely stay there when we are back in the area.
“I would book again if I went back.”
The owners were very gracious and helpful. I would recmmend this quaint hotel to everyone. Williams was such a fun town - lots to do and see.
“One of the best bargains I have ever found”
Charming, romantic old hotel with modern plumbing and electrical. Great location near the Grand Canyon. Some of the other guests were a little inconsiderate with the noise, but no complaints at all about the hotel. Great deal!
“wonderful place to stay”
Hotel has great character, perfectly located in town, helpful and friendly owner/operators with off street parking. A bonus to be a guest in the company of former guests like John Muir. Wouldn't think of visiting the Grand Canyon without staying here again.
“Historic, "homey", centrally located”
What a great find! We wished we had planned for several days. Not a good place for someone looking for luxurious convenience. Also need to be fit enough to handle the long staircase. Probably don't want to be burdened with a lot of luggage. But if you enjoy a more relaxed environment and enjoy history, it is a place to go. Appreciated the personal attention and friendliness of the owners. The sitting room with TV, internet, coffee/tea was a great place to sit, visit, relax.
“Cozy & Relaxing”
After a a long day on the road the Grand Canyon Hotel was a nice retreat in downtown Williams. The hotel is on Main street which offers many opportunities to stroll and peek into the many shops or grab a bite to eat. The rooms are nicely decorated. The larger rooms with a bathroom offer privacy, we even had one of the rooms with a claw foot bathtub which was is heaven if you just need a good soak in warm bath. We look forward to another stay at the Grand Canyon Hotel.
“Best antique hotel EVER!”
My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Grand Canyon hotel and had an amazing trip! The hosts are very personable and made us feel like locals. The hotel is decorated with actual family heirlooms!! We stayed in the WWI room, and as a military family, this was a real treat. The hosts' gg-grandfather's uniform hangs on a coat rack in the corner, and his dicharge papers and medals hang proudly on the wall. There are wonderful portraits of the family that we very much enjoyed looking at. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable (albeit a little small...) but it gave a real feeling of staying in 19th century Williams. The town was great - the night life is really fun! We had made several friends by the time we left after three wonderful days. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in Williams.
“Great old school hotel”
