Look for better options.Posted Jan 3, 2013
Cons: General lack of upkeep.
Location: Close to railroad, but during our stay this wasn't a problem. Right in Rout 66.
The owners said they were refurbishing their rooms, but obviously they hadn't got to our room. There was rough plastering of a wall, which had not been professionally finished, or painted. New aircon had been fitted, but the wooden surround not painted. Generally the room was tired and in need of urgent refurbishment. Breakfast was not included.

Pros: Clean room warm heater and good cable
Location: Perfect location walk to anything
Clean room warm heater comfy beds and great cable. Owner also had some discount coupons for local restaurants that we used. 2 adults and 2 kids. Great price. Perfect walking distance to the grand canyon railway too. Excellent location right on 66 walk to restaurants and shops. Recommended and will stay again.

Budget-friendly hotel close to the GC RailroadPosted Nov 26, 2012
The Highlander is a small, quaint hotel with friendly staff. It is located on the historic Route 66. We stayed while visiting Williams to take the Polar Express on the Grand Canyon Railway, which was only walking distance away. The kids loved the complimentary snacks stocked in the front office. The rooms are little, but clean and comfortable. It suited our needs fine - we wanted a budget stay, close to the attraction.

An Old Time Motel with Old Time FriendlinessPosted Oct 25, 2012
This is not a luxury hotel, but an old time, pull car by the door, very friendly motel. The staff and owner were wonderful. We received coupons for local restaurants, as well as recommendations. The room was small, but had a comfortable lounge chair, good tv and was clean. Complimentary snacks, sodas, water, etc were in the fridge in the office, take as much as you want. A lovely experience!

loved itPosted Oct 5, 2012
Great little older style motel with owners/staff who make that extra bit of effort in service that makes such a big difference. Very basic amenities, but well maintained and the room did have a small fridge and microwave. Easy walk to train, restaurants and shops including the best coffee bar we found in Arizona.

Budget price means just that, so expect no frills.Posted Sep 25, 2012
Pros: Proximity to the town and station.
Cons: Thin walls mean high noise levels from unsavoury hotel guests.
Location: Ideal for catching the train to Grand Canyon.
Average budget hotel which is still a 'work in progress' for the owner. Be aware that the walls are very thin! We experienced a very noisy and disturbing night from late night drunken occupants next door.Fortunately some other residents banged on the wall to sort them out as we were too scared to do so.

Great place to stay - route 66 and Grand CanyonPosted Sep 12, 2012
Good to arrive to friendly and helpful host. Very clean rooms, adequate but basic. On Route 66 and short walk to bars and restaurants and access to Grand Canyon. It was quiet and close to Safeway grocery store - a big plus for us.
