Overnight stayPosted Apr 16, 2014
Cons: More personable front desk clerks
Location: Real close to a lot of restaurants and stores and movie theater
This hotel was a little dated even with the recent remodel they said they had done. The man that checked us in was not friendly in the least, could barely utter a word to me. Room had a very strong deoderizer smell which meant the person before us had smoked in there and they tried to cover it up. Was quite noxious but he refused to move us to a different room. The upside was that the remodeled bathroom was very nice and the shower was terrific. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very minimal

Hmmm...Posted Mar 18, 2014
Not anywhere near the NAU Conference Center despite the title of the listing. Lots of space and tables to have a game of cards. Good bed. Hairs in the shower, but otherwise appeared clean. Managed to check in and out without hearing 10 words from the manager. Turf carpet on walkway and steps needs to be replaced as it is worn thin and slippery. Train noise minimal and no different than anywhere else in town even though the tracks are literally behind property.

Fine for a cheap stopover.Posted Mar 17, 2014
Location: Downtown Flagstaff is done right. If you want locals who care about the food they make and the products they sell, this is your place.
Do be aware that the railway is noisily close-by. This is a classic 50s-style motel, fine for the price.

Good overnighter for the moneyPosted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: Good rate, speedy wifi, clean bathroom, comfy bed
Cons: Definitely replace the sofabed. Not sure what can be done to modernize the building, HVAC and electrical short of rebuilding the place
Location: Galaxy Diner is right across the street. Service there is much better in the evenings when the boss is around
Stayed here in a king studio en route from LA to Monument Valley. Planned things well in advance and got a very attractive rate though Expedia. Property isn't much to look at from the outside but all the important things are satisfactory, i.e. the mattress & bedding was newish and quite comfortable, the bathroom was clean and properly equipped, and the in-room wifi was pretty quick without any annoying lag. On the downside, neither of us wanted to even sit on the sofabed in our room (we used it for a luggage rack), and you will never forget that you're staying in an "experienced motel" as opposed to a nice hotel or inn. The breakfast choices were somewhat limited, although I grabbed a pastry at check-out that was fairly tasty. We wanted something more substantial so we chose to go across the street to the diner and had their $3.99 breakfast instead before hitting the road north. I'm not sure why others have complained about the staff because we thought they were nice. Bottom line is that although I wouldn't want to hang here for too long. if you're bunking down in Flagstaff and not expecting a room at the Hilton without paying for it, this property serves quite nicely for the money.

Cold Room.Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Room was clean, bed was comfortable, showers worked well.
Cons: The poorly working heaters need to be fixed.
Arrived late, was very tired, heater was not warming up the room after a couple of hours, my cheeks and ears were very cold, slept in my day clothes and jacket to stay warm under the covers. Front desk person came to check the heater, he said it was warm. I did not agree and asked to change rooms, but he said all the rooms are like this. Tile floors and toilet seats were ice cold. The room started to warm up close to morning. Woke up feeling exhausted.
