Nearly no room at the innPosted Jul 14, 2014
We booked with Expedia the klooster hotel but when we arrived at the hotel late Wednesday night at 11pm the hotel said that our booking was cancel , what a shock as we did not cancel the booking ourselves , lucky the hotel said they had 1 room lelf which saved the day. . I don,t know what we have done to find another hotel that late on at night but the hotel was more than helpful thank-goodness. Not a good start for my sixty birthday .

Fab modern/ old mix hotelPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Beautiful mix of old and modern put together. Very friendly staff and fab room.
Cons: Coffee making facilities in the rooms, perhaps bar open day time too for refreshment drinks
Location: Location was great, short walk from restaurants and shops and gote market
Loved our room that was beautiful old style room with very modern bathroom. Lovely beams on the ceileing and four poster bed. Tv had a great selection of channels. Staff was very pleasant and helpful too. Loved the bar area, very cosy and lovely terrace outside. The garden was great and my son had lots of fun running around it. Didnt have brekfast at the hotel instead to a stroll to the centre which was only about 5 minutes away, some great cafes and restaurants near by. Will definiately visit again!

Enjoyed our dtayPosted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: Quite location and friendly staff.
Cons: A little hard to find.
Location: The Leuven town of Belgium is one of the most charming cities in Europe. Make sure you visit the historical Engineering department of the old campus.
We stayed at Martin's Klooster for one night in May, 2014. The hotel was a little away from the town center and hard to find. But the room condition was good and staff was very friendly. The hotel is in a quite neighborhood, which is very important to me. Their breakfast was excellent. We rented two bikes and run around the town (very charming) and really enjoy our day there.

Great blend of modern and classical design.Posted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: Beautiful design and very comfortable.
Location: Close to night life, restaurants and shopping.
The hotel is beautiful and close to many points of interest. The design of the space is an excellent blend of classical and modern aesthetics with a professional and courteous staff. Very comfortable rooms, 5 minute walk to great shops, restaurants and nightlife.

Comfortable and central in LeuvenPosted Jan 29, 2014
Pros: Location, quiet, comfort.
Cons: Shower leaked a bit.
Location: Hotel is just a few minutes from the lovely main square. Also close by, the fascinating “Beguinage” area, a UNESCO world heritage site.
I booked a single room, and had a nice ‘attic’ space. Very cosy, comfortable bed, and quiet in the evening. Staff accommodated an early check-in.

Great locationPosted Jan 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
The location of the hotel is wonderful for the centre of Leuven and only a pleasant 15 minute walk (if that) from the train station. Just a couple of minutes from Oude Markt where there are many restaurants and bars to enjoy. The room itself was nice however there were no tea/coffee facilities, no robes, no slippers already in the room as described. Beware that the minibar is not included (as you would be led to believe it is included from the hotel information). There is free wifi in the room and all public areas which is great to have. The Kloosterbar is very cosy and friendly.

Wonderful place to stay.Posted Aug 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is located within easy walking distance of old town Leuven and is situated in an old cloister. The rooms are large and well appointed and the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is huge by European standards and has a soaker tub and separate walk-in rain shower. There are many good restaurants nearby and lots of shopping. The only disappointments were the 25 euro charge per day for secure underground parking, the 20 euro charge per person for a limited breakfast (eggs, ham, etc. cost extra) and the coolness of the reception staff. We paid for the parking because there is very little on street parking and we'd probably ending up putting the same or more into the meters. We skipped the breakfast and walked up the street to Le Pain which is an organic bakery/restaurant with the best scrambled eggs in Europe. We would definitely return to Martin's Klooster.

excellent accommodationPosted Apr 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Except for the cost of breakfast – 20 euros – everything about Martin's Klooster was superb. I greatly appreciated the lovely bar with snacks – pizzas, a small sandwich or lasagne. Staff were helpful and professional. It would be my choice for a return visit. RE breakfasts – don't be put off by that cost as there are many excellent options within a few minutes walk.
