“Family Hotel”

I noted cutbacks in the service etc. Had to ask for toilet paper for room twice. Not as varied or as good breakfast in the mornings & ran out of supplies (spoons, etc) & food on occasion. The staff were very friendly & made up for the lack of supplies etc. We've been going for years & will most likely go again with the understanding that times are difficult everywhere & sometimes these things happen. Newcomers might not understand however.

“Excellent value.”

We were staying for one night while visiting Kettering, and were pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price. The lobby is large and nicely appointed, with fireplace and large screen TV. The front desk clerk was friendly and quick with our check-in. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The pool was open, but to our disappointment the hot tub was out of order. The room had menus of local restaurants that delivered and we had an excellent Italian and seafood dinner in the room. The beds were very comfortable, but bring your own pillow. The pillows provided were old and flat, and even stacking several didn't quite cut it. The complimentary breakfast was much nicer than many you would find at a chain hotel. There were hot scrambled eggs, make your own waffles, sausage, fruit, pastry, and more. The only thing I would question is the choices in updating and renovations. The bathroom looked great IF.....you never looked up. Walls and floor were very nicely tiled, the tub and shower had a one-piece surround. Water was hot and water pressure was great. HOWEVER....It appears they chose not to do anything to the ceiling when they last updated the bathrooms. The ceiling was a sorry-looking drop ceiling, and the metal braces were old, rusty and pitted. The fan/light was stained, dusty and loud. It was impossible to have a light on in the bathroom without the noisy rattling fan. Puzzled at the choice to not update these as well. Overall, a great stay!

“Flint, MI area Hotel”

We enjoyed our stay...I would like to STRONGLY suggest maybe a couple of chairs in the Laundry area...so one MIGHT read a book while clothes being done...and maybe some soap dispensing machines...and coin changer... Breakfast area was nice...not much kept in the cooler as far as yogurts concerned...HATE hard butter...had good choices though...

“could have been happier”

Well, our stay was good. Just good, but could have been better. The comforter on the bed was kinda old looking. The room smelled old and stuffy. Cheap soap and lotions. No good channels on tv. No fridge or microwave in room. Bed was comfty. View out of window, boring. This hotel could be so much better, with updated furniture and ammendies. Carpet might have been not as clean as it could be. I would like to visit a cleanner americinn next time. Instead of thinking about other hotels when visiting there.

“hotel critique”

Both nights of our stay by 10 pm water was only warm not hot. Second night was quite noisy in hallway.

“Okay hotel for what I paid”

The first room I got had the tv running and smelled of smelly socks. Went and got a new room that was now non-smoking but still had a lingering smoke smell. Made the most of it, cause anything was better than the first room. The location was great for what I was there for, and the breakfast in the morning was outstanding.

“Good budget hotel - qualified recommendation”

This hotel is in good shape because its still fairly new. My concern is that, once it gets a little more worn, management won't keep it up. The breakfast buffet on the weekend was great. On Monday, though, there was a different person working the buffet, and she didn't do nearly as good a job. If you asked her to replenish something, she made it seem like it was a huge inconvenience for her. It's obvious that they order food for the weekend crowds, and if they run out before Monday, your're SOL.
